We stayed here on 30th and 31st December 2013 with our 10 year old son. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our family room was two rooms with an open doorway between the two (4F). They were great with us taking our son into the Lambretta Bar which adjoins the hotel and is open to residents and non residents. Could not fault it. Centrally located for enjoying Bath and will definitely go back again.

Our room was on the second floor, which in America would be the third floor. The two flights of steps were very steep, but at least a staff member helped us take our bags to the room. The room was a bit tight with luggage, but was functional. The breakfast buffet was fine and included assigned seating so that your table was always ready when you arrived. The location near the Roman Baths and just a few blocks from the bus and train stations was brilliant. It was a good choice for the start of our four nights in Bath. The staff at reception was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel could use a bit of updating and TLC as it looks as though it has not been updated in a while.

Room Tip: Try to get a room near the ground level.

We had room 5 which has a 4 poster bed. The room was clean quite spacious and plenty of storage/hanging facilities. En suite bathroom was ok, nice and clean.
The whole place is a little tired, what could be a fantastic regency building is in need of some imaginative revamp really. My main issue was that the hotel was too hot. Even though the heating was turned off in our room we had to open the windows in the night.

Breakfast is continental only and fine.

The Lambretta bar located adjoining the hotel is lively, and geared up for sports fans, especially rugby. The staff are friendly in both the hotel and the bar.

The best asset of this hotel is the location which is superb. Everything in walking distance! Only 5 mins from the train station too.

Room Tip: they don't all have en suite so check before booking.

I admit to being fussy but even my husband shares my opinion. This is not 3* accommodation, we normally only stay in 4* but it was only for a couple of nights so took the chance, never again! We booked a small double expecting the room to be small but the room way tiny and the bed was small and very uncomfortable, pillows very hard and nowhere did it indicate that this room was not suitable for anyone with a disability as it was up 2 flights of stairs. The woodwork is in dire need of painting and/or cleaning, I've had better showers in a caravan and the furniture is distressed to the point of collapse. The bar is a sports bar with 4 screens showing football all day and evening with brings in some questionable clientèle. The breakfast was passable, the staff polite and the location fantastic.

Great location, close to the centre. We had a room right at the top with gorgeous views. Room was clean and cosy. The shower room was a little small but adequate. Some noise during the night but nothing serious. An excellent buffet style continental breakfast with a wide choice of fare. The building has real character and the staff were friendly and helpful. In all very good value.

couldn't be better location wise I was very pleased with that. Very helpful and friendly staff. Room was cosy. Generous breakfast. The only poor thing was the shower (no bath) it didn't run hot the whole time and the water pressure wasn't great.

Room Tip: choose en suite if you can!

Stayed here earlier in the year as it was so handily located in the centre. do not take any rooms at the front if you want any sleep! nice reception staff, room was a bit dated, nice enough continental breakfast. handy bar underneath apart from the noise!!!!
