“Lovely oasis...”

The gardens have been very well looked after by the National Trust and it makes a lovely outing for an afternoon. Bear in mind it is a sloping site and can be hard work if pushing a wheelchair or buggy.

“Outstanding and panoramic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

We joined family and friends at a wedding at the Prior Park Chapel overlooking the panoramic landscaped gardens and grounds. The Chapel led out to this amazing view over Bath and the famous Palladian Bridge and lake in the distance. The buildings at Prior Park are magnificent, built of local Bath stone, and the location just perfect. Looking down upon the NT grounds from the higher level, they entice you to take a stroll through the woods to the Palladian Bridge.
I understand that these buildings and grounds were created by Ralph Allen, Postmaster General. He owned the local Bath stone quarries and developed this whole area.
When visiting Bath do take time to visit this wonderful place, it is slightly out of the city in an elevated position but easily accessed by car or local bus.

“pretty much why you go to England”

Just a lovely walk through lovely grounds. Staff is friendly, paths easy, a couple hours to a picnic day - anything would be nice. National Trust property, and here's a plug to buy the membership and USE it throughout the UK.

“Very Peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

The employees at the gate were very friendly and helpful, and pointed out a few interesting places that people sometimes miss. We wandered around for several hours, and it was beautiful and peaceful. The trees are huge and ancient and beautiful, and the dozens of species of birds were great. Highly recommended.
