A relatively small park located on the top of Beechen Cliff. Accessible from 3 directions by foot but only 1 by car or bike. Vehicle access is at the top of Shakespear Avenue.
The park is round in shape, several established trees and shrubs. There is a play area for children, an area for playing 'Boules / Petanque', and also a Bowling Green for the local Bowls club.
For me though the main attraction for a visit to this park is the spectacular views that are on offer from the far corner. From an elevated position you can view pretty much most of the city. Looking west (to your left)you can take in all of the city centre and as you turn slowly to your right you get to see all of Lansdown and the ancient Iron Age settlement of Solsbury Hill. On a clear day the views are simply stunning and 30 minutes can just fly by.
Many locals go there for a picnic lunch and take in the vista
