Apsley House was delightful. We stayed in the Coach House Cottage, a self-catering 2 bedroom 2 bathroom stone cottage. The accommodation was excellent, well equiped, comfortable and private. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was excellent, with generous supplies of bread, milk, juice, bacon, eggs etc for our personal use when we arrived. The main house was also outstanding, beautifully appointed with majestic views over the city of Bath. We were made to feel welcome and very much at home. It is conveniently located close to transport into the city. Also there are some good walks close by and an excellent 'Desh restaurant around the corner with excellent table service and delicious food, although the ambience was not quite up to the same standard - but good value for money. We could have stayed at Apsley House for much longer than the 2 nights we did.
