Stayed for our anniversary, attentive staff, beautiful breakfast, excellent location, just beautiful. The teddy bear gift on check out was a lovely touch. Also we received an anniversary card which was very thoughtful. We stayed in a room on the top floor which was cosy and had the biggest bathroom with an amazing bath and shower. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends, thank you

My husband and I drove into Bath during a weeklong driving trip through the English countryside and did not have reservations anywhere. We called this location based on the TripAdvisor reviews. This B&B was entirely accommodating and we were offered the Garden Room and given a great price..the hospitality here is first rate. I did not get up in time for breakfast the following morning, but my husband said it was the best food of the entire trip...and we stayed at some really fantastic places. This is a low pressure, low key, charming environment. Décor is upscale without being stuffy; truly comfortable and "user friendly".

Room Tip: My only complaint- and it is extremely minor- is that the shower in this particular room is a bit of...

I agree with all the good reviews of Apsley House, however, with hindsight, we would have preferred to stay nearer to the centre of Bath. Gilly told us when booking that we could catch a bus to town, and that they came along every 10 to 15 minutes. Well we had to wait 30 minutes each way, and talking to the local passengers this happens frequently. Also, we wanted to walk to eat in the evening, and we were disappointed in the ambience of the nearest pub.

Really really enjoyed our trip to Apsley House. the staff were all so friendly and very helpful despite our late arrival and our last minute appearance at breakfast. Rooms are all lovely as well.

To get into the centre of town was very easy - we either walked in (about 20/25 minutes) or a £6 taxi journey.

Only two minor points - first it would be great to be able to check availability and book on-line and breakfast only goes until 9.30am. We were there for a relaxing trip to Bath and it would have been nice not to have to have rushed down in the morning to breakfast.

Room Tip: We chose upstairs as it was quieter and the walk was minimal. Room on the first and second floor app...

Dear Hazaroundtown,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your thoughts here on Trip Advisor, and guess what, we have actioned both of your two suggestions, which were both valid points I agreed with!

Actually we are already in the process of launching our online availability and booking engine, and it is due to go live on December 15th 2013. We are already using it internally, but we are just waiting on the finalisation of our new website for it to go live to external viewers.

In terms of the breakfast, I agree and I spoke to the owners today, and we are now going to extend weekend breakfast times until 10am! Your feedback helped me get this agreed, so thank you!

So you see, all this feedback really is helpful to everyone.

Many thanks again,

Gillie

Our stay here was excellent in every way, the accommodation, breakfast, attention to detail was excellent.
We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

The walk through the park and along side the Royal Terrace was beautiful, something we would not have discovered if we hadn't been staying on this side of Bath.

Highly recommended.

I'm not sure there's much more I can add to the reviews from others as we only stayed at the Apsley for a single night, however we were made to feel very welcome during our brief stay. Staff were attentive and helpful from the moment that we arrived, the room was lovely and breakfast was a wonderful experience. I just wish we could have stayed a while longer.

The last few reviews are all spot on. A beautiful property, tastefully furnished, outstanding hosts/management. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The honesty bar is a great idea and was much enjoyed!
Look forward to returning.
