The Coach House is an extension to the main hotel. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a family sized kitchen that comfortably sits a family of four, it is an ideal self catering option close to the city. Oh, and it comes with a private courtyard/garden to enjoy your tea and toast in the morning or aperitif at sundown. Well stocked fridge for the essentials. A friendly, welcoming team. Nicest spot we've stayed this trip.

My wife and I came here from Bath Railway Station with a taxi costed £8,40.Hotel is not located in the center however frequent buses are available to/from Bath for £2,50 single ride and both bus stops are very close to hotel ,1-2 minute walk , also bus timetables shown on the stops , seek for Bath Bus Station on your way to city. You can also walk to/from the city within 40 mnts.easily if the weather is fine.We stayed 3 nights at Waterloo room, nice view, clean , large bathroom with a fantastic bath tube and shower. There are also ironing board, tea/coffe making facilities together with daily complementary still water.Breakfast was excellent, serving all you need for English breakfast and there is a very nice room in front of the reception hall where you could have your drinks at night.

Having spent the first 21 years of my life in Bath and being married to a great wife who is also from Bath, it is nice to go back now and again to visit our families and to see the city again.

Every time we go "home" we always stay at the Apsley House Hotel - if we can.

The story has it that this house was allegedly built by the Duke of Wellington for one of his "floozies" so the building goes back some time, and every room has been painstakingly furnished with appropriate antiques, and the bathrooms are lavishly adorned with marble and certainly "look the part" and gives a feeling of being in a very well appointed and cared for historical building.

We have probably stayed in every room over the last 20 years or so, and every one is different and is full of character - and very comfortable to stay in. Entry to some of the upstairs rooms can only be gained via a narrow and steep twisting staircase, but if you are fit enough to make the climb you will be rewarded with some spectacular views over he Weston and Southdown areas of the city.

A half-hours pleasant walk through the beautiful Victoria Park will bring you into the city center but regular buses are available if you don't fancy the walk and prefer to leave you car in the hotels car park ( recommended).

Bath is not a cheap place to stay, but on the odd occasion when we have been unable to stay in the Apsley, we have paid more for far inferior accommodation, so it is well worth trying to get a booking here if you can.

The owners and staff are very helpful and pleasant at all times, and as we found when we had to make an unexpected visit for an undetermined amount of time when my mother-in-law was seriously ill in the Royal United Hospital, they were also very caring and helpful ( to say the least).

The breakfast is a real treat, and unless they are fully booked ( as is often the case) the Apsley House Hotel is without doubt the best place to stay in Bath.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good, and due to the hotels popularity you may not have a free choice, but every r...

Me and my boyfriend came here just for one night as a birthday treat. We mainly wanted somewhere close to the centre of town as we where visiting the thermae spa. First of, the hotel is beautiful outside and we where pleased to find out that parking spaces where provided. Which in some of the other hotels in bath did not provide. Upon arrival we where greeted by a lovely man who's name I didn't find out. He told us and showed us around the hotel, filled us in on breakfast times, the honesty bar and also gave us maps of the local town and the quickest way too get there. I'm sure he could tell we didn't know much so was extremely helpful in showing us on the map the best way to get into the town, and a couple nearby restaurants.

The room was amazing, we stayed in the Vitoria room. Bed was comfy, plenty of pillows provided. The bathroom was to die for. Breakfast the next day was lovely, we both had the special for that day which was eggs benadict. It was probably the best I'd ever had.

Over all staff where amazingly helpful and welcoming, hotel was beautiful and I can't wait too stay again!

I stayed in the hotel as a birthday treat and was absolutely blown away by the gorgeous rooms the friendliness of the staff and the hotel as a whole. It is in a great location - only a short taxi ride away from the centre or a 30 minute walk through the parks. The breakfast was superb with lots of choice and the molten brown toiletries were also lovely to use. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be revisiting in the future!!

This was our first visit to Bath and the excellence of the accommodation enhanced the experience. Spacious and well appointed rooms, bathroom was a good size, well designed and plenty of hot water. Our room was on the first floor and very quiet, with beautiful views across the valley. Our hosts were all very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, with a different "special" option each day. Located relatively close to the centre, we mostly walked in and caught a taxi back each day. Bed was large and comfortable with decent pillows. Only one criticism, and that is very minor was the bedside lamps were a little too dim to read by.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor, and it was very quiet and spacious.

We stayed here for a few days last year and all I can say it was a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Wellington room. David couldn't have been more helpful always ready to recommend things to do and the best places to eat. One or two small things - the room we occupied was on the ground floor beside the dining room so if you wanted a quite lie in sometimes the background noise from there from the early breakfasters did sometimes intrude. The breakfast was yummy and there was a different special available every day. Bath is only a short bus journey away (bus stop across the road) or a taxi ride costing around £7. One great advantage in staying here is the free parking - a rarity in Bath. There is an "honesty" bar in the lounge - a novel touch. There are a number of useful shops - Spar, a florist, two ATM's, two coffee shops and two takeaways located in Chelsea road a short walk away.
