Apsley House Hotel is stunning. The staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 9 (the Mornington), which is gorgeous - huge four poster bed, glorious slipper bath and separate shower, French doors to the garden, tastefully decorated throughout. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. We hope to come back!

Booked Apsley house for our anniversary trip on the back of it's number 1 rating on trip advisor. All we can say is that it lives up to the brilliant reviews. For starters we found it very easy to find, it's the one house on the road with a dark red sign. Our welcome was very warm and we were given some helpful top tips on getting into and around bath.

Our room - number 3 the champagne room was small but had everything we needed including a very comfy bed and brilliant shower.

The hotel helpfully gave us the number of a cab company and called us a cab to get us into town on the first evening. This is a must, as the walk is too long in the dark. Cabs cost around £8 to get into the centre if Bath.

The breakfasts as described in the other reviews were fantastic, fresh fruit and cereals and then gorgeous cooked food. The scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were especially good.

Walk into bath was about 30 mins to the baths, very easy on a sunny day but might not have been so easy with children or those with mobility issues.

All in all, such a wonderful time and a perfect b&b, thanks for making our anniversary so special.

If you are visiting Bath and want to avoid your average hotel and are willing to stay just outside of the city and don't mind doing a little walking this is your place. This place is gorgeous!
My wife and I along with my brother were traveling when we decided to book this B&B. It was the best place we had the privilege to stay in the UK. the price is reasonable. the breakfast was delicious, if you decide to stay you must get up for breakfast! And Anna was real helpful in giving us all the info we needed!

We could not fault any part of our 1 night stay here. The staff were so friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. We arrived before lunch time and were able to check in early (we had given the hotel advance warning of this) so we left the car in the hotel's car park and walked into the city centre which took just under 30 mins. Saved us the trouble of trying to find somewhere to park in the city.
We stayed in the Copenhagen room which was beautiful with everything we needed and as it's on the lower ground floor, it felt isolated so it didn't feel like we were in a hotel. The bathroom has both a shower cubicle and free standing bath. All was spotless.
Good selection of cereals and fruit for breakfast along with cooked options made to order. They even had my favourite smoked salmon & scrambled eggs!
We were so impressed with the attention to detail, the rose and chocolates were a lovely touch for Valentine's day! Go on and treat yourself to a stay at Apsley House when visiting beautiful Bath.

Definitely in the class of boutique hotel. Have stayed nowhere in the world with a more luxurious room.Bathrooms appear to have been recently renovated and mirror the luxury theme of the bedroom. Breakfast fantastic. Staff couldn't be more helpful.
Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else if we were coming back to Bath.

My husband and I, along with our 16 year old daughter, stayed 1 night in Apsley House. We arrived after a long drive on a bitterly cold February night. The welcome was warm as was our room, the Garden Suite. The room was sumptuous! It had a little side room off it that had a beautiful "chaise lounge" sort of bed for our daughter. Everything was perfect. Breakfast the next morning was all you could ever ask for. And because it was Shrove Tuesday, there were freshly made pancakes served with bananas, maple syrup and mascarpone...... Mmmh!!!

We booked through late rooms.com as we had to decided to go for a trip the night before, it was the first one we saw and it was love at first sight!

We arrived to a beautiful looking building and were warmly treated by the staff. We were so pleased when we saw our room, it was absolutely gorgeous!! Such luxury everywhere and thoughtful touches. We loved having tea making facilities in our room, an ironing board and hair dryer, good sized tv and lovely toiletry products.

The room we stayed in had a beautiful modern bathroom that was very warm. There is nothing worse than a place that has poorly heated bathroom.

The area appointed for breakfast was stunning and the service impeccable, you felt like you were the duke of Wellington from the treatment. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a different special every day which gave plenty of variety. The breakfast was the best by far of any of our travels.

If you are heading to Bath look no further. You won't be disappointed and it is well worth the short drive into town to stay here. We will definitely be back!
