We stayed here in February 2013 in an executive double room.
Firstly let me mention the staff. Wonderful! Anna-Maria checked us in and she thought of everything for us; from offering options for dinner to options for exploring Bath. She even supplied us with maps of the city and highlighted the key areas to visit. Her details on how to catch the bus into the city centre so as to save money on parking sounded so easy, we decided to give it a go…and it was indeed so easy! It cost us GBP4.40 each for a return ticket and the journey was about 10 minutes each way.
Now to our hotel room; we stayed upstairs in room 9, the Hannah More room. It was spacious, tastefully decorated and featured a great king size bed and a single bed. We only used the double bed and it was good quality, comfortable and offered a good night’s sleep.
We had a TV, hair dryer, alarm clock with docking station, coffee and tea making facilities and on the coffee table there was a good selection of magazines. The room also had exceptional light fittings offering a nice bright room at night. So often we find ourselves in hotel rooms that are very dimly lit. Free Wi-Fi was available plus use of computer if needed.
The en-suite was a nice size too and we had plenty of soft, fluffy towels, a beautiful hot shower and complimentary shampoo, conditioner, soap etc
Breakfast was served downstairs in the dining room and we had our own personal table which matched our room name! On the back of the breakfast menu was a brief outline of room’s namesake, Hannah More. What a refreshing and interesting touch!
Breakfast offered a wide selection of fresh fruit, cereals, nuts, yoghurts etc. and also a fully cooked breakfast. The choice available was the best we had come across during our holiday in the UK.
We met Anna-Maria again at breakfast and once more received a warm and friendly welcome and a chat.
We definitely would recommend this guest house as a place of high quality service and we would return for another stay without hesitation.
