Stayed at this guest house for one night in bath and was pleased with the accommodation, and service. The lady on reception, Anna, was very helpful to point out places to visit and giving directions into town. This is not in the city centre but about 30 mins walk out of town and we enjoyed free parking. The room was clean and welcoming and the guest house had charming names for the rooms. A selection of hearty breakfast was available and set us up for most of the afternoon. If you don't mind not being central this is perfect.

Thanks for your review - and Ana was glad to have been able to help you with local knowledge of the city and its sites and eating places. We hope you enjoyed your walk in along the river. Hope you will be able to get away from London for another visit.

My wife, daughter and I stayed at Aquae Sulis Guest House during our 18-day road trip through England, Scotland and Wales.
This could be described as a boutique hotel housed in 2 adjourning buildings (not sure if they're listed buildings) on a street in a quiet part of town. The buildings are well lit so it is fairly easy to spot them while driving.
Our family room (the Sally Lunn) on the 1st floor faces the front of the hotel. It was a reasonable size and even has a fireplace. (The room was adequately heated so the fireplace remained unused.) The TV was a decent size, and wi-fi reception was good.
We didn't have time to use the other facilities, but have no complaints about the hotel or the breakfast.
We booked directly with the hotel (AquaeSulisHotel) at the last minute and got the room at a discounted price which we thought was reasonable, considering the prices of accommodations in Bath.

Room Tip: Sally Lunn is a good room for a family of 3.

My first visit to Bath. Aquae Sulis provided my friend and I a very cozy and comfortable place to stay with a delicious breakfast and warm and friendly service. Thanks for letting us keep the car parked while we toured the city! Would definitely recommend/stay again.

Just returned from Bath and my sister, my mum and myself had a great time and stay at the Aquae Sulis for 2 nights. We usually stay as the large hotel chains but having got fed up of the impersonnal service we decided to stay in a guesthouse. Loved the 'nothing is a problem' attitude, from us arriving early (11.30am) and allowing us to check in straight away, to the gluten free and diary free breakfest each morning.

Our room had 3 seperate beds which was great as this can be sooooo difficult to find. The room was an ok size (some people might say small but we came to see Bath not stay in our room), pretty and very very comfortable. There was a flat screen TV, MP3 docking station, hairdryer and tea making facilities. The bathroom was very clean with a great walk in shower. Lovely little touches of hand wash, hand lotion, shampoo and shower gel really impressed. Plus being at the very top of the house we had great night sleeps with no disturbances (stayed in No.12).

The walk into Bath took us about 30 minutes and was very simple. If you are not a walker, the bus stop is right outside the hotel or taxis cost about £6/7 and are very efficent. We did a combination but we do like walking so most of the time we walked.

Breakfest was lovely - fruit, cereal (with Soya milk available), juices on the sideboard as you walked into the breakfest room. Cooked food was ordered at the table and tasted gorg!!! We were also given gluten/wheat free bread for toast.

I highly recommend this guesthouse and myself and my family will be staying in guesthouses from now on for our city breaks/weekends away.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms quiet and no disturbances

Friendly family run guest house situated off the city centre in a quiet area. We have visited Bath after 9 years we have moved out. Aquae Sulis Guest House just confirms that Bath is great city to visit and emphasizes city atmosphere.
Landlords were extremely helpful since our first contact. We could arrange our accommodation directly via emails. All our individual needs were met; guest house staff has prepared packed breakfast for those who left very early in the morning and kindly arranged any additional requests, printing air tickets or TAXI.
Spotless nicely decorated spacious rooms with immaculate bathroom, the latter one definitely better than we had in the Hilton Hotel. Starting day with delicious freshly cooked breakfast was exciting experiences for us.
Guest House is easily accessible by local bus services, bus stop to Bath city centre is just about 20 meters far. The journey to city centre lasts approx 10 minutes
We would really like to recommend Aquae Sulis to every type of travellers, families (we stayed with teenagers who appreciated free WiFi ) or couples or group of friends.

Hi and many thanks for organising the review with your daughter - so much appreciated as the feedback does help us to keep going in the right direction. We are happy you enjoyed your stay and that Bath was still a good place to visit after your 11 year absence. You will have to repeat the experience whilst your daughter is still in the UK! Good luck to her with her studies. Thanks again, Jane, David and Ana
