My mum, sister and I stayed at Aquae Sulis at a weekend at the end of September, for two nights in one of the family rooms. We’d wanted something where we could all stay together so a room with two single beds and one double was a find.
We booked through the hotel’s own website with no problems at all.
The location is absolutely fine. Yes, if you were walking it’s a bit of a way from town but we were driving so were really surprised by how quickly and easily out of Bath city centre we found it using the sat nav. For anyone driving to Bath, if you head to the city’s long stay car park - Aquae Sulis is on that side of town, about 5/10 minutes away.
We arrived in early evening and were given a really warm welcome. We parked easily in front of the hotel on a tarmacked area, but if that had been full, we could have parked on the road. It’s a nice area without any parking restrictions. The b&b is lovely at the front with great flowers and easy to spot (lit up!)
I was a bit worried a triple room would be too compact but the room was lovely. It was up at the top of the house – three flights of stairs, so not for the infirm!
The room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated with a little en suite shower room which was brand new. The room also had free wifi which worked really well – something I always want in a hotel these days.
Breakfast was functional if not exceptional and the service was good. The information in the room about local places to eat was spot on and the hotel arranged a table for us on the night we arrived after making a suggestion to head 15 minutes’ walk back toward town to The Weston (a very nice extra touch by them, thanks!). The food there was delicious with spot on service.
All in all, much recommended if you are staying in Bath.
