Let's get this clear; Jimmy's is an all you can eat buffet restaurant in a tourist town. That means it gets really very busy at peak times (tourist season, after Bath Rugby play at home etc). You don't get fancy service or fine dining. What you *do* get is a very heavily Asian-slanted selection with some salads, roasts and pizza/pasta thrown in. Children love it for the choice and I love it for the excellent fresh-cooked Indian food - various naans and dosas are cooked to order as well as pasta dishes and stir-fries.
For my taste the dosas are as good as I've had in Gujerati joints in Southall and the chicken tikka and lamb koftes are excellent. The naans come in a range of styles and are cooked in front of you. The Chinese dishes are usually pretty good. On the downside the "Sunday roast" can be a bit ropey but the salads are good.
In summary, there's something for everyone if you avoid peak times (late lunch is much more relaxed and cheaper than dinner) and leave your preconceptions at the door. Leave space for the ice-cream and pudding station too.
