“Lovely setting, small room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

We stayed as party of a wedding party in August 2012.

The good:
The hotel is beautiful and has amazing views of the surrounding countryside.
The hotel is nicely maintained and in keeping with the traditional feel of the hotel.
The hotel felt exclusive for the wedding party, however I'm sure this wasn't the case. It was the perfect size for the wedding.
The food was really tasty.

The bad:
Our room was really very small, our friends were in a different room which was significantly larger, really nice and spacious which was considered to be the same standard.
It is a little spooky.

Things we found useful:
If you follow the sat nav, the hotel is located down a very, very steep, narrow hill. Unless you have a 4x4 we would recommend taking the alternative route which is a more gentle slope.
Request a room to the rear of the hotel, as these seemed larger.

The hotel is beautiful, as is the setting for a relaxing break. We would certainly stay here again if we were in the area.

Room Tip: Request a larger room, they seemed to be located towards the rear of the hotel.

Brilliant pre centreparcs night at this hotel. Incredible scenery and beautiful hotel :-) highly recommended. Rooms cosy, restaurant service very good, breakfast yum (and that from a veggi!). So unusual to find such a lovely hotel at such a reasonable price!

Very comfortable
We were in room 49. Very comfortable and massive bed. Room a bit hot so had to open window but had a very comfortable night. Shower head needs cleaning though as not much water came through until I scraped my nails over it, then it was fine, nice and hot. Get a bit worried about Legionnaires, sorry management, but had to mention that. Staff friendly and breakfast was fulfilling. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 49 has a very comfortable HUGE bed.

Thank you for your recent review, I was delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and took advantage of our full English breakfast. I would just like to assure you that we use a local company to undertake regular checks on all water used throughout the hotel, to ensure that there is never any risk of Legionnaires or other water related issues. Please accept my apologies for the shower head scaling; the hotel does operate a regular rolling descaling program due to the hard water area we are situated in. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Thank you for choosing the BEST WESTERN Limpley Stoke Hotel.

Myself and my wife had an amazing time getting married at this hotel. The food was awesome, the rooms and the hotel just mirrored what we are look and ourselves and our guests had a very good day. The pub at the end of the drive is an added bonus, the staff within the hotel were very very helpful and I can't wait to take the new wife back for our first anniversary.

Stayed here just one night with the hubby. It is in a beautiful spot just outside Bath, in a tiny village surrounded by trees and narrow winding roads, so perfect for a country stay with easy access to the city. The staff were all friendly and polite. The room was well appointed and comfortable with all the usual's you'd expect- tea making, local info etc.
We had our evening meal at a quaint little pub at the bottom of the drive. The food was decent enough pub grub, nothing special but had a nice atmosphere.
The breakfast at the hotel was basic, quality could have been better (sausage and scrambled egg the usual suspects) but we've come to expect little from hotel chains in the breakfast dept.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

I visited the Limpley Stoke Best Western as part of wedding that was taking place there. It's a lovely manor-house hotel and although my experience had both high and low points I'd definitely recommend it.

I'd booked a single room though for some reason was given an incredible double room, which if that is their policy when rooms are available then I'd certainly recommend them. There was a rather random problem that although serious was dealt with by the staff in a matter that was more than satisfactory and without any need for fuss which to my mind is one of the most important factors when considering a decent stay in a hotel.
