“Great hotel, but needs AC!”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

My husband and I really liked this hotel. It was a great location right in the heart of Bath, although SO hard to find in a rental car with GPS, and there is no parking at the hotel. They will give you a sign to put on the car while in the bus/loading zone, and then you must park down the street in a pay parking lot (next to the police station so its fine). The rooms are small, yes, but this is a boutique hotel in the heart of Bath, so having big rooms are not the point of staying here! We loved walking right out from the hotel into the heart of the City and being so close to all the shopping, the Abbey, the Roman Baths. The only downside is NO AC. It was so hot there, and the windows barely opened and they give you one small fan that barely got us through the night. I wouldn't stay here again just based on this, because we barely slept. The staff and service are great though!

Room Tip: Just ask for a fan, as there is no AC.

A really wonderful stay at this delightful hotel, all the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly.
The room was a little small but still very lovely with a view of the courtyard.
The hotel is perfectly located right in the city centre so great for leisurely walks to all the sights

I booked two rooms as we were spending a couple of days in Bath with friends. We've stayed before and found it relaxing and enjoyable, with excellent service and good sized, well decorated rooms. The only complaint was that the toilet took a long while to fill up!

We stayed for one night in an economy double for one night in July 2014.

The room was very small but as described, the bed was very comfortable and the fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. The room had overlooked the back of the hotel with no view but again what you would expect in an "economy" room which we chose simply because we were arriving late and only staying one night. Other rooms looked fantastic but were much more expensive.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was excellent, serves in a lovely restaurant overlooking the square in front of the hotel.

The hotel is located on North Parade right where you want to be for a short stay in Bath. Everything is easily accessible on foot from the hotel. The roman Baths are 250m away as is the Abbey.

This is a nice enough hotel in a great location: round the corner from the Abbey and a few minutes walk from the railway station. I found my room to be a bit small and it was in an odd location: up a flight of stairs then down two flights.

I recently stayed here for 1 night with some friends. Really nice hotel and in a great location but felt it was overpriced. The bathroom and room had evidence of previous damp patches and grout in the bathroom was in need of renewal. The room was booked as a twin but was basically a double bed that could be unclipped ! Have stayed in other hotels of a similar price range and had much better, larger and cleaner facilities in a room.
