“Top Notch Hotel of any in Bath England”
Reviewed October 14, 2008

My husband, myself and two friends stayed at the Kennard Hotel for 10 days at which time we participated in the annual Jane Austen Festival. During our stay, our hosts treated us royally and even made specal breakfasts for us. The decor of the hotel reflects the date of the orginial building 1795, Georgian. The room setups - complete with biscuits and beverages to include both sparkling and distilled water - was spotlessly cleaned. The lovely ensuite bathrooms were also beautifully appointed. My favorte spot was on the third landng where two chaise lounges were placed near a rear window. We were served champagne here after a long day parading around Bath in Jane Austen attire. The hotel is located one street over from where Jane Austen lived. Our rooms were lovely and the views from all levels were fabulous. Whether it was rooftops or gardens, the view was amazing.
We will never stay anywhere else when visiting Bath.

The Kennard Hotel was the perfect place to stay. It was exactly as is decribed on the video and photos. They were extremely friendly and helped out any way they possibly could. The owners even looked up a place we were interested in visiting for us. The full English breakfast was superb! We cannot say enough good about our stay. It is centrally located, very, very clean, in a safe area & run by very nice people. The next time we visit Bath, we look forward to our stay at The Kennard Hotel again.

Spent 5 wonderful nights at this hotel/B&B. We have never found more helpful hosts. Can you imagine any other owner running down the street at night to find you a parking place on the street? This hotel is very centrally located and only a few blocks from many fine restaurants and attractions. This was not especially clear to us when we booked but we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Situated on a quiet street near city central so a car is'nt needed unless one plans day trips elsewhere. Don't know why this isn't ranked #1 in Bath.

I spent 3 nights with my wife and our two children (aged 9 and 12) last august in the Kennard Hotel ; we had 2 rooms one next to the other one on the same floor . It was for us the first time at this hotel and we were all immediately well impressed by the kindness and warm welcome received . The children were excited by the typical english atmosphere you can breath in the hotel and rooms, absolutely in line with the surrounding scenario of Bath.
Located nearby the famous Great Poultney Road , allows an easy access to the city center .
Superb english breakfast every morning was served with passion and much carefulness on details . Many good advices on how to spend time in Bath and in the coutryside . Now that we are back to work after holidays seems like a dream ...

  • Liked — atmosphere
  • Disliked — no lift inside ( but not typical of georgian town houses !!... )

I booked this lovely hotel for my wife and Fathers birthday(yes they are the same day) through the Bath tourist board at there recommendation and was very impressed. We where given separate rooms rooms beside each other and each was beautifully decorated and perfectly clean. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the garden wonderfully peaceful. But what will keep us coming back was the the service. The couple who run the place without being asked surprised us with a handmade birthday cake to go with the wine they had been keeping cold for me in the back garden complete with candles and crytsal wine glasses. It made my wifes day. That was typical of the service all weekend and cannot rave enough about this place, You must come and see for yourself. Location is also very handy to the equally lovely city of Bath.

  • Liked — The great service that did not feel like we where putting them out
  • Disliked — That we had to leave

Stayed at the Kennard for the first time to break our journey from Yorkshire to Cornwall and to see some of Bath and I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. I had been a bit stressed about parking as I'd heard that it can be difficult in Bath but found that I could park on the street right outside the hotel with a free permit provided by the hotel. The Kennard is in a great central location to see Bath. The rooms in the Kennard are luxurious, comfortable and relaxing and the service is excellent. Mary and Giovanni were very friendly and helpful and Giovanni's breakfast was superb. I will definitely stay at the Kennard again.
