Stayed a few nights here and found this hotel to be a real gem run by a lovely couple who went out of their way to make our stay faultless. The accommodation has an olde worldly charm and elegance with hundreds of paintings and artworks adorning the wall of every hallway and staircase. It is impeccably clean throughout with antique furniture in all areas.

The breakfast is certainly the highlight of the day with various options on offer including the usual full English breakfast, boiled eggs, omelettes and a lovely fresh salmon and scrambled egg choice, all freshly cooked to order. Cereals, fresh fruit salad, freshly squeezed orange juice and a variety of teas on offer made this breakfast fare the best we've seen in a long time. Most of the produce is sourced locally and this really comes out in the food quality.

There isn't really any parking outside the hotel except for a drop-off area, however a parking permit was provided free of charge during check-in and you can usually get a space within 100-200m once the bags have been unloaded. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes' walk from Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths so strategically this is one of the best hotels from which to explore the beautiful town centre. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: No air conditioning was apparent in our room which could make it warm if it was really hot weather.

The Kennard is a small stylish hotel situated in a quiet terraced street in central Bath.
On arrival I was warmly greeted and given a complimentary upgrade to a double room,I was travelling alone. The friendly owner carried my luggage up to the top floor room.
The room was a smallish double but nicely furnished and immaculately clean,as was the ensuite.
parking is on street, the hotel issues free permits and proved problem free - I was able to park almost immediately outside.
The room proved to be quiet and the bed very comfortable.
Breakfast was served in a pleasant basement room and was excellent an extensive range of cereals, fresh fruit and various freshly cooked options.
The city centre is literally 2 minutes walk.

On arrival at The Kennard Guesthouse, I could not believe my eyes when a handsome Italian gentleman walked out to greet me and carry my suitcase as I stepped out of my taxi. Yes, I think it was pure luck that my arrival coincided with his exit, however, it was a prophetic start to my 48 hour stay at this establishment. This was just the start of a heavenly two days. My beautifully appointed room epitomised elegance and both bedroom and modern, en suite bathroom were pristine - something I have not experienced in the UK in over three months. Owners Giovanni and Mary were charm personified, warm and accommodating from my first enquiry telephone call to my departure. Their approach was always professional and they were never intrusive. Breakfast was a magnificent affair - full English prepared to perfection and served in a luxurious dining room with the greatest attention to detail. Receptionist Stephanie was also a delight to deal with. Mary and Giovanni are clearly perfectionists from their own groomed and immaculate appearances to their lovingly attended and appointed establishment. It was a joy to be in Bath (surely one of the most beautiful places on earth) and the Kennard's location could not be more perfect for accessing all the local must-see venues. It was a joy to experience feeling pampered and cossetted like a queen for 48 hours - from my complimentary soft bedroom slippers and dressing-gown to the most delectable haute cuisine 'ketchup' at breakfast - tomato sauce will never be the same - no detail was spared in ensuring excellence. In over three months of travel and a variety of accommodation, nothing has come close to the standard you set. Bravo Mary and Giovanni and thank you!
