“Nice B and B”
Reviewed August 22, 2007

We stayed at Ashley Villa for 3 nights. It is located a little outside of Bath, but a walkable distance. A bus stop right in front of the hotel will also get you into Bath. There is a shopping area right around the corner that has a laundromat, grocery, several restaurants and other shops, which is very convenient. There are a couple of Pubs nearby as well. The hotel was clean, rooms were nice (with cable TV- the only place in England we had this) and owners were very friendly. Breakfast was very good. There is parking on site if you have a car. They have a nice garden with a pool, although it was too cold to swim while we were there. I recommend this place and would stay here again.

  • Liked — Nice bathroom, great location, nice garden
  • Disliked — It was a bit of a hike to get into bath

The location was perfect, the rooms were lovely clean and refreshingly decorated. The pool and bar were great for lazy days. The owners were really friendly. Top B & B one of the best i have stayed in.

Me and my family have just arrived from a couple of days in Bath to see my brother graduate. we stayed in a travel lodge one night and Ashley villa for the last night and suprisingly, the travel lodge which was £58 was much better than Ashley Villa which was £100.

Our room smelt musty and the decor was awful... it looked as if they missed our room out when doing up the hotel although we felt as if because there was 3 of us, we got an inferior room the the couples. The room was not so good and the bathroom was the best thing about our room although it looked as if it had been badly finished.
In the morning, the breakfast is limited and with the full English, you're either allowed beans OR tomatoes... stingy? The coffee was weak and the hot chocolate was watery... weren't too impressed! Although on the upside they had the internet which was very handy and you didn't even have to pay inlike at travel lodge! I would recommend this place for couples but not for families.

  • Liked — Bathroom and cleanliness
  • Disliked — The musty smelling room and the decor.

I just returned from a stay at Ashley Villa, and this was the first thing that I wanted to do to let people know of the hotel because I was so impressed.

This was our first trip out of the country, so we had SO many questions, but the staff was amazing and exceeded expectations and went beyond what they needed to do.

To name a few:

We needed directions to get into the City, so we asked Ashley, the owner, and he said that he was headed that way so he would drop us off. We piled in his car and on the way there, he gave us information about the city, where we should go and what we should do. Great attitude, extremely friendly, and I mean what owner of a hotel would drive his guests into the city...that says a lot! Thanks Ashley!

The manager, Aneta, was the light of the hotel. She greeted us with a smile, answered our million questions, and even let us borrow her hair straightener...she was absolutely amazing. She did way too much for us and it was always with a smile!

ROOMS:

We stayed in the family room and it was very clean and perfect size. It had 2 twin and 1 queen bed. Our room overlooked the pool and garden which was breathtaking. Right outside of our room, was the hotel lobby with a television, wireless internet, sofa, tables and bar.

BREAKFAST:

Offered a full english breakfast, eggs, toast, cereal, yogurt, etc. This is included in the price of the hotel and it was delicious. Servers continued the trend of being friendly, and were there to cater to whatever we wanted.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Free parking (great because parking costs a lot of money around the city)
Bring washcloths (Bed/Breakfast don't provide them - just a reminder)
A couple miles from the middle of the City, but not far where you can't walk it (we found it nice to be a little out of the city because it was more peaceful)

OVERALL:

I was so impressed at the service offered here because each person made you feel as a part of the Ashley Villa family. Aneta was our angel for the trip and we are so thankful for her and all she did for us. Clean rooms (which is the best), friendly staff, and just an overall GREAT experience. I would recommend this to anyone traveling to Bath and would stay here again!!!

Stayed in a party of 17 people on a sporting tour of Bath and the surrounding areas and the Ashley Villa could have not been any better. Great value, excellent spacious rooms, good breakfast and good bar.

Rooms were very clean and staff were great. Comes highly recommended and would love to re-visit next year.

Only one mile from Bath's town center, very clean and very modern decor. Breakfast and the service was great. Our bathroom was quite large for European standards. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Overall, the hotel was nice and well decorated and in a good location
- not right in the centre of bath.. with adequate parking infront. However, the room was smaller than it appeared on the website.. certainly very cosy.. not that we minded that too much! From what I remember, the heating was very good.. easy to regulate the temperature and the full english breakfast was a fantastic start to the day!
