This restaurant resembles almost perfectly a traditional italian "trattoria" with its very friendly atmosphere and simple decor.
The food is very good and authentic...
Perhaps a bit pricy.

Lovely little Italian restaurant. Some of the best garlic bread we've ever had, and the lemon sorbet and vodka desert was ace!

Very nice location. Waiter was polite (possibly one of the owners as he knew the food very well). Antipasto starter was one of the best I've had. Mains were tasty. Would definitely go again

Rustico Italiano is a small restaurant run by two brothers, situated between The Royal Crescent and The Circus. The kitchen is tiny but that does not stop them producing beautiful fresh food. The menu is quite static but there is always great special dishes and plenty to choose from.

In the summer you can sit outside on a pedestrian area so there is no risk of cars or car fumes. The service is always prompt and courteous.

We love this place and return time and again.

Booking is essential to get a good table, ask for upstairs so you are at ground level or you will be downstairs which is fine, but not as nice.

We ate here at the advice of Brock's B&B and it was wonderful. Indoors, tiny space, lively Italian banter, felt like a dinner scene from the movie "Moonstruck". The chef watched carefully from his cubbyhole kitchen when I took my first bite of the fettuccine with mussels... two thumbs up. Great deserts too.
