Description: The Cork located on Westgate Buildings, Bath is situated within walking distance of all visitor attractions, shopping areas, the train station and coach park. The building where The Cork is, was historically a 'debtors' prison, and renovations have left the stunning Bath sandstone exposed. Comprising of two bars, two vaulted party pod booths, a conservatory and a large al fresco terrace area. The Cork offers an ideal location to socialise, relax, watch live sport or have a full on party! A full, varied range of wines, cocktails, hot beverages, real ales, cider, craft beers, plus an extensive list of whiskies, Bourbons and rums really make The Cork one of the places to visit in the UK. With a theme of fun fun and fun, The Cork has two Party Pods that can be hired for karaoke or live sports or to play your own music. A function area is available for larger parties too. Expect to see and listen to DJs, live bands, comedy acts and magicians, not to mention their own fun and games including the legendary Sunday night pub quiz. The food is fun too. All prepared on site, the hand crafted burgers, chili hot dogs, nachos and huge hand cut chips are legendary in Bath.

We ate here on a hen weekend, there was 10 of us on a Saturday afternoon. It was a lovely afternoon so the garden was full, we managed to get a seat. We ordered our food/drinks inside and the staff were friendly and polite. The issue we had was the arrival of our food. They advised they would let the kitchen know we were all on the same table so that the food could come out together, however this did not happen, all the meals came at different times. I was sharing a number of the smaller sharing plates with my friend, and even they didn’t come out together (ordered at the same time) with one of them arriving around 15-20 mins after the rest! Also 2 of the girls meals didn’t arrive till over half and hour after the rest of us! They had to return it and ask for their money back as we had to leave by then!! The choice on the menu wasn’t great either, mainly burgers, so for them not be able to get them out at the same time was a real let down for us.
The beer garden was lovely, and the staff were great (even when complaining), but the food service just completely let it down and for that I would probably not return, I definitely wouldn’t recommend to go here for food.

Last weekend we arranged a hen do for my friend in Bath. We struggled to find a restaurant willing to accommodate a hen party, but The Cork were happy to do so.

They were also happy to put our reservation back by 1/2 an hour when it took a little too long for us all to get ready!

Our barmaid / waitress Ness was what made the evening. She sat us on a table right next to the bar and loos (hen do essential!) and made sure we had the best evening.

The food was great, the drinks were really reasonable and the service was outstanding. The Cork, you need to make Ness management! She seems to run the place anyway :).

Thanks to Ness and The Cork for a great evening and for getting us on the guest list at Second Bridge, we had a great time there too!

The Cork looked lovely from the outside but was a bit tatty inside, We had early dinner - 6pm after a matinee performance at the theatre Disappointing burger. Small portion, not great quality, decidedly average. My husband had fish and chips, also very small portion size, fish tasteless, Very disappointing!

Also, ladies loos desperately in need of some maintenance! Wood paneling coming away from the wall, mould behind the sinks, taps not working. Overall a very quick disappointing dining experience.

We are aware that the inside is in need of a touch up. For this reason The Cork will be completely transformed by early 2014.

We believe that our burgers are no smaller than other outlets near by. Our patties are 8oz where many places are just 6oz.

Most people comment on how big the fish and chips are.

Two parts of the small wood paneling have popped away from the wall, yes.

The taps all work.

Sorry it didn't meet your expectations.

We recently had a corporate function here: Dinner & Drinks and I can't praise the venue & staff highly enough. The service we received was faultless, everyone I dealt with was very friendly and super helpful, nothing was too much too ask. The food was amazing and Steve the headchef happily catered for even the most difficult of dietary requirements and all of our 80 guests enjoyed the buffet. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and we were able to bring in our own decorations and cake. Would highly recommend the food and the venue if you are looking for a corporate or private party venue.

Apparently we arrived at a time when the kitchen were 'very busy', most of us ordered burgers for lunch and when our order arrived we all looked at our plates knowing something was missing, which was the coleslaw and left little to be desired. The waitress sharply told us they had run out, but no-one told us upon ordering. We asked for a side salad or something, and she said she would ask the chef, but the kitchen was very busy. She did in fact bring out a plate of salad for 8 of us to share.... One order was the fish finger ciabatta sandwich which looked delicious, and presented nicely on a wooden board, but we ordered it without tartar sauce which they got wrong so we had to send that back but then it arrived on just a normal plate which i thought was odd.

Hi

I'm sorry that we didn't explain to you that there was no coleslaw left during the very busy service. It sounded like the situation was rectified by giving you all a bowl of salad to share.

I'm sorry too that the kitchen made a mistake by putting sauce on the fish finger sandwich, an easy mistake I'm sure you would agree, especially in a busy service. This again was rectified as you stated.

I'm sorry it didn't come on a wood board but we only have so many.

Thank you.
