“So much to see!”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

This museum was recommended to us by the excellent host at Chestnuts House Guesthouse, and is very well worth visiting. We couldn't believe how much there was to see. From wonderful paintings by Gainsborough, Reynolds, Stubbs and others to ceramics and many other forms of collectible art, this museum is hardly bettered outside London. If in Bath, this is a must.

“really interesting and free making it even better!!”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

a really interesting place, has various displays throughout the year when we went it was Dr Who which i loved!. The museum is free to look around with exibitions extra, we didnt bother with the charged for exhibition and just looked around the main museum. The restaurant is quiet expensive but no more so than others we have been to, the service was good and it overlooked the gardens which was nice, you can sit outside but it was too cold when we went but with plenty of seating indoors that wasnt an issue.

“Don't miss it!”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

A jewel in the middle of Bath! A lovely buildind, great displays (don't forget to look in the drawers!) and superb paintings. Helpful and friendly staff. Great cafe...all this, and parking too!! The exhibitions change regularly, so there is a good excuse to keep going back Free entry to the museum - charge for some exhibitions. You could spend a day here - or half a day and walk (5 mins) into shopping area of Bath. One of the best museums in the West.

“A good way to pass an hour or so”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Not a large selection of paintings but set on two floors, mainly 18th/19th century portraits by well known British artists some with fascinating stories supplied by the friendly and knowledgeable guides.
