Owner description: Designed by John Wood II (1767-75), the Royal Crescent is comprised of thirty houses, shaped like a half-Colosseum, which uses a gigantic series of Ionic columns on high bases.

You cannot visit Bath without this - especially as the plants are in bloom. The slight diferences between the houses make close inspection a must - just to compare the ironwork , fanlights and door colours.

The Royal Crescent is amazing! Incredible architecture. A dream to live in one of the apartments of even stay in the hotel.

Really worth a visit
Great views across the valley and quite breathtaking
Imagine living there when it was first built
N 1 worth looking around too

This brings the aura of the Roman architecture - very open and beautiful - with massive pillars = so characteristic of the Roman architecture!

A beautiful spring day and stunning views across the park and countryside, but I have to say, after visiting the Circus we found the crescent a bit disappointing. Maybe a case of too high expectations although at least we can say we have been. the walk through the park back into the city was beautiful.
