“Quirky shops!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

This is a really nice place to visit. The little café on the bridge is fab for a cream tea/ cake with fantastic views over the river. There are some good little shops too which are worth popping into.

“Couldn't really see what all the fuss was about”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2013

It's just a bridge. Yes, there are a few shops up and down it, but nothing like what we expected to see from earlier reviews. The views are nice but to be honest it is just like any other bridge in a pretty town.

“not exactly The Ponte Vecchio”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013

I can get a bit blasé about Georgian architecture coming from Edinburgh so was expecting a bit more in the way of wow factor when it came to the bridge. We did have a very good afternoon tea in the Bridge café- definitely the highlight!

“Pretty when you aren't on it.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

I've spent the last 7 weeks in an apartment 6 doors from the end of Pulteney Bridge and walking across it every day. It is beautiful from the Grand Parade. Take some photos. From the other side (best seen from a river tour boat) it is a mess of untidy sheds tacked onto the original structure. Don't take photos. Walking across it - you're on a road. You get a view of the river from inside some of the shops.

To sum up - pretty from a distance and worth several photos, but don't expect the atmosphere of the similar bridges in Italy.

“Bridge good”

The Pulteney Bridge is worth a look. You can head down the steps to the riverbank for a different view and there are some interesting shops built into the bridge.
