Owner description: One of only three bridges in the world lined with shops, this exquisite 18th-century bridge is one of the most admired structures in Bath.

Nice for photos, as the bridge is scenic and the river quite lovely at this point. But, no much else to it than a photo stop.

Lovely bridge. The first time I crossed it I did not realize I was on a bridge. It is similar to the Ponte Vecchio in Florence as there are shops on the bridge but the Ponte Vecchio is all jewelry shops and this one has a mixture of regular little shops. The view from the bridge is beautiful but you should take the stairs and trail along the Avon too.

We found this one of the prettiest sights in Bath, walking alongside the Avon River dotted with swans and ducks, the cascades or water and the green rolling hills in the background with hidden follies and lovely homes.

Pulteney Bridge figures in Jane Austen novels and remains a charming two-lane bridge with broad pedestrian areas and lined with shops on both sides - a great rarity for the times. You'll find English craft shops, international vendors like Orvis and some lovely little bakeries and cafes. Horse-drawn carriage tours take this route as well, along a route well-decorated with hanging baskets of flowers then flowing into Great Pulteney Street.

This bridge is one of the more unique pieces of architecture in Bath (and the city is full of them). It's worth a quick visit, and if you have the time, and they have the space, consider grabbing something at the cafe on the bridge.

This is good to look at and is impressive but go to the Riverside Cafe that is in the far right corner as you look it. The meals are expensive but share them - would recommend Tuna Melt and the Chips are Shamazing !
