This was my first visit. A great selection and ver helpful staff. It really was a joy. The shop was small but very high quality. The gallery is very central and lovely for just popping into. I saw a collection of recent works by local artists...v impressive.. Then it's a short wall to another gallery . Bath has it all.

This free museum is centrally located and worth a peek, although it won't take you long to get through the highlights of the collection. It does have an interesting Picasso lithograph and an exquisite Klee painting, but a lot of the art is less than inspiring worthy VIctorian portraits. It was nice to see a Joseph Southall not on display in Birmingham.

My wife and I went to the Gallery on the 28th March '14. Free admission, and a great display of Art through the ages in this wonderful Victorian Building. There was also a display of drinking glasses (some locally made) from Georgian to Victorian times. Exquisite examples of the glassmaker's art.
The Gallery itself, was displaying Art from the mid 15th to mid 20th centuries, with works from Whistler, Gainsborough, Sickert and many others. Some outstanding examples of individual works. Well worth the visit.

Not that you may get bored in Bath but when wondering around this is a great way to fill the time. The free exhibitions are very good, the staff informative and the extra exhibitions are very reasonably priced!

There are always new exhibitions on, the 2 separated rooms are a great idea and you have a fabulous treat upstairs, not great for kids, however many seem to be in there. The staff keep them occupied with pens and paper so no loud cries, so far. Keep going back
