We have just arrived home after a 3 night stay at this beautiful location and we definitely weren't disappointed. From start to finish our stay was enjoyable and as detailed in previous reviews the owners Karen & Robert make you so welcome and for us definitely went beyond the call of duty! We took our dog who was made just as welcome and not once did we feel awkward having him there especially as he is a bit on the large and boisterous side! We paid extra for the four poster room and for me it was definitely worth it. Everywhere was clean, immaculate and the amenities provided more than adequate. Breakfast was amazing, plentiful, all freshly cooked to order and again in a nice relaxed atmosphere with both Karen and Robert on hand to make sure you wanted for nothing and to answer any questions about local walks, restaurants or just general info on Bath or indeed Bloomfield House itself as it is such a spectacular place. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending if you are planning to visit Bath and will definitely return myself.

We stayed at Bloomfield House for two nights in February 2013 to coincide with the visit of a friend of ours from the US. All I can do is endorse many of the positive remarks already made herein. The house itself is grand, elegant and sophisticated but with a homely and relaxed atmosphere. It was after all built in the Regency and once housed the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Bath. It's set in a peaceful, respectable residential area some 15 minutes walk from Bath city centre.
Whilst the setting has elements of formality, don't expect starchy formality from owners Karen & Robert. Throughout our stay they were accommodating, kind and gracious hosts. They make a great team.

We stayed in a room with a traditional four-poster bed which was both comfortable and immaculate. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented.

Karen maintains a list of places to eat in Bath together with her own personal rating of each. We tried an Italian restaurant on Karen's recommendation and it was indeed outstanding. Italian food served in England rarely reaches the heights of Italian food served in Italy. The fare we sampled at 'Nonna's' on Gay Street was 'the real deal' however.

There is much to recommend a stay here. Bath is an elegant, cosmopolitan, vibrant city set within the beautiful County of Somerset. Bloomfield house is a very pleasant place to stay. All this counts for nothing however without genuine hospitality. Some people have this ability and many don't. Karen and Robert have the gift of making their guests feel at ease and at home. They have eclectic interests, keen intelligence and a genuine warmth for their guests. Highly recommended.

Oh......and if you do stay make sure you ask to be introduced to Tolly, though he will probably find you first!

We stayed at Bloomfield House for three nights whilst visiting the city and relatives. The house is charming, interesting and comfortable. The owners go to a lot of trouble to make guests feel at home. Have a look at their website, the actual experience does not disappoint.
I couldn't fault the place but it is worth saying that anyone with mobility difficulties would find the steps and stairs an issue.
There is room to park at the hotel, a bonus in Bath.
Getting into the city on foot or by bus is very easy and quick.
The information provided automatically by the owners is really helpful.
About 5 minutes walk down the hill brings you to a nice pub. We didn't eat there but the food looked good. It's convenient if you want somewhere close.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous rooms, very clean and beautifully decorated. Very attentive hosts as we were made to feel very welcome. Lovely home cooked food which added that extra special touch. Only a short walk to the all Bath sites. Loved it. I look forward to a future visit.

We stayed here for one night in October 2013. The house is beautiful, it superseded our expectations. And is very fairly priced. The room was stunning, with lovely old worldly furniture. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. It is a short (uphill) walk from the train station/Bath centre, and a taxi costs no more than £6.

We were greeted by Karen upon arrival, she was very friendly and informative, without being over bearing. After a day of activities and an evening out we let ourselves back into the house.

The next morning we had a delicious home-made full English breakfast in the dining room, with a view of their gorgeous garden. And then we we're on our way.

The only small negative is the shower, although it is stunningly presented with lovely complementary products the water power is very weak, and anyone with relatively long hair with struggle to wash it! It is pretty much a treacle. We were only there for one night so this didn't bother us too much, but it is something to consider if staying for a longer period. As the hotel is eco-friendly I think that is something to do with why, so it is for a good reason, but it is something to be aware of.

Also as they are eco-friendly,if you are travelling by public transport let Karen know and she will offer you a small discount.

All in all, I can't wait for the opportunity to go back, and I would recommend Bloomfield House to anyone.

Room Tip: Worth paying the little extra for the four poster bed. But am sure all rooms are stunning!

We stayed in Bloomsfield B&B for 2 nights on the upper floor. There is no elevator.
We had a nice room with a nice bathroom, not very big but everything you need was there.
In the direct neightborhood are sufficient pubs to have your dinner.
A walk down to the citycenter takes about 25 minutes, coming up I guess about 1 hour but we took the bus.
Parking is in front of the house.
Breakfast is fantastic. done by the owner of the B&B.
We loved Bath.

The only complain was the price 130 pounds for a night is a lot.
Bath is an expensive city.

Everything about our stay in Bath was fantastic : the food, the people, the B&B and off course the beautiful city. The guest house is stunning! It is a beautiful house with all the comfort you could want and the breakfast is excellent (and no early getting up!). But it was our host who was priceless. We brought our English Bulldog with us and she was the first and only host who trusted us and the dog enough to let him alone in the room.
We were doing a tour of the South of England for two weeks and Bath was nearly the end of our trip. Louie was getting really tired by then and he really needed some decent rest instead being dragged around and being constantly petted/photographed everywhere (mind you he loved it at first but even he has its limits). A good long quiet nap in a homely room on his pillow was exactly what he needed so we really appreciated that so much. Off course we do not let Louie sleep on the bed or chew things or misbehave in general. We tought him well since he was a pup.
Bloomfield House brings an extra "vibe" to a stay in Bath, because of its surroundings and thanks to Karens great tips we had nice dinners, no problems with parking our car etc.
We hope to return one day with my parents-in-law. I think they woul love it as much as we do.
PS And Karen: thanks for the good advice!
