Although it was a 10-15 minute walk from the train station (10 to the Abbey) I would stay again. The room was beautiful and quiet, beds comfy, bathroom large. Great breakfast in the morning, and the owner was so friendly and greeted you daily! I think it was a great value, we liked that it wasn't so hectic compared to staying more city center.

Delighted to hear that you found us ‘great value’. An infrequent compliment for properties in Bath, in particular given the prevailing exchange rates. We take great pride in each of our guests feeling welcomed and attended to as individuals. Great Pulteney Street is widely recognised as one of the finest Georgian boulevards in Europe – we feel we have an ideal ‘goldilocks’ location for enjoying the world heritage city of Bath. With thanks.

We have just returned from an overnight stay at Dukes and we cannot praise it highly enough. The service we received was outstanding from the moment we made our initial enquiry and throughout our stay. On arrival we received a very warm welcome from a gentleman who I think was the owner. As well as giving us directions and restaurant tips he also carried our bag to our room - much appreciated at the end of a long and tiring day. When booking we'd mentioned that it was our 30th wedding anniversary and when we got to our room there was a card and box of chocolates awaiting us. A lovely touch. We stayed in the Leinster room - it was lovely with views over the sports fields and city . The furniture was beautiful , the room was spotless and the bathroom had the fluffiest towels I've ever experienced ! Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Added to all this the hotel is extremely close to the centre of Bath so we were able to leave our car there and walk into the city the next day. Thank you Dukes for such a special stay - we will definitely be returning in the future.

Thank you for all the applause! As you appreciate we have a superb team who all contribute to deliver a wonderful experience. Delighted that you enjoyed the Leinster up on the top floor; the elevated views across Georgian ‘chimney tops’ the ‘rec’ and Somerset hills beyond are beautiful and a wonderful memory. We look forward to your return.

Saw the glowing recommendations on here and booked this for 2 nights at the end of May for my 30th birthday treat with my husband. Our room was next to the front door. Absolutely exquisite - you walked into a tea room with mural then into the bedroom. Waiting for me was a delicious chocolate cake and a birthday card from the owners! Such an amazing touch! They were really welcoming - especially the male owner, very chatty and friendly. Close to the city centre, we walked everywhere. Breakfast was like a 5* restaurant! Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Delighted to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Norfolk suite. With large sash windows overlooking Great Pulteney Street, easy access to reception, breakfast and wonderful high Georgian ceilings, the rooms are hard to beat. We all deserve to be a little pampered once in a while – particularly on a birthday! We pride ourselves on our breakfast so very pleased to receive the ‘five star’ accolade! With thanks.

We broke our return home from a family wedding in Cornwall to visit Bath and stayed at the Dukes Hotel. It was a treat from the moment we arrived. The hotel is a short walk from the city centre and is stylish, elegant and charming. The staff were fantastic throughout our stay and rarely in all our travels have we received such a warm welcome and such friendly and helpful attention to our comfort and enjoyment. Whilst we had our usual continental breakfast which was excellent, we could see how much other guests were enjoying their breakfasts, prepared to order from the extensive, varied menu. We won't look any further for accommodation on our next visit to Bath.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Wellington which I would recommend highly, although as the hotel points out, it is on the second floor and there is no lift

As a long-time visitor I had to be concerned about the new management changing the property from a hotel to a more traditional b&b. Well, it works. It's not quite the same, but Dukes has maintained its tradition of great customer service. Nothing was too much trouble, although some of our requests were probably a pain. But all handled gracefully! Still a great property. Can't beat the location! Can't recommend it enough!

Room Tip: Probably avoid the ground floor unit, front entrance.
