Although we only stayed a night the staff were welcoming, very helpful and polite. The room was spacious and breakfast choice imaginative. The valet parking went without a hitch and location for City Centre very convenient. Have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel to anyone visiting the City.

I booked this hotel based on other reviews I'd read on tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed. We were pleased to discover on arrival we'd been upgraded, and were delighted with the room (26). The bedroom and bathroom were both very clean, spacious and airy with large windows looking onto the street below. The staff were warm and friendly throughout. Although the hotel is not the closest one to the train station it is only about 15 mins walk away, and nothing in Bath is that far away from the hotel - it is convieniently located for the main attractions with tea rooms and shops littered along the way. Our room had twin beds pushed together, so would be suitable for a couple or friends/family sharing. This hotel was absolutely charming, I would definitely recommend it.

Whilst in general our recent stay at the Queensberry was very enjoyable, I am a little surprised that other reviewers have been quite so enthusiastic.

First of all, the hotel may be competitively priced within Bath, but overall, in comparison with the European mainland, it is very expensive. Indeed, the night before our arrival in Bath, we stayed in Stratford upon Avon for less than half the price of the Queensberry and still experienced a friendly welcome, clean, spacious room and central location. We also enjoyed a full buffet breakfast for the same price as the very limited continental breakfast at the Queensberry. Nor did we like the fact that the hotel does not even have a drop-off zone outside. You have to double park for loading and unloading and although the street is quite wide, we felt rather rushed and uncomfortable with this.

Our room and bathroom were very clean, especially the carpet, which is not the case in a lot of hotels, and the bedroom was an interesting and eclectic mix of styles. However, it was spoilt by the tatty old writing desk (see photo) and the poorly thought out walk-in closet (see photo). The clothes rail was insufficiently high above the shabby chest of drawers for clothes to be hung without trailing. There is no in-room safe.

Despite the hotel seeming to be over-staffed, there were small hiccoughs in the service: lack of clean cups and hot coffee in the lounge; casual and offhand service at breakfast; breakfast tables not properly laid with items missing; fruit salad composed of totally unripe fruit. None of this was of major importance, but coupled with the high prices, we would be unlikely to stay there again. I think that owners and staff try hard, which is appreciated, but it's just not quite worth the price.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. It is always interesting to hear our guest’s views on the service that we offer.

It is disappointing to learn that your experience fell short of your expectations and that you are surprised by the consistent enthusiastic reviews which we enjoy receiving.

The Queensberry is deliberately quirky and we realise that this does mean that not all guests will appreciate our little eccentricities. However we do take giving our guests the best possible hospitality and service very seriously.

We firmly believe that together with the many complimentary services we provide such as valet parking, we offer good value for money.

Very good service, acceptable rooms and amazing location. Hot water didnt work.........but they soon fixed it by resetting boiler....these things happen. Breakfast was great. just be wary if you dont like stairs......its a long way up to some of the rooms.

The room (5) was quite nice, with a window that opened onto a nice outside courtyard with plants and wicker furniture. The bed was excellent, the decor very nice, the bathroom was modern, and there was an adequate closet with a vanity just outside. The towel warmer was a nice touch, though I understand these are common in the UK. The weather was uninviting during our stay, but the TV worked well and was view-able from both the bed and a nice couch.
Most things to see in Bath are somewhat of a walk, and there are plenty of little shops and restaurants along the way to divert attention. Queensberry is uphill from the Roman Baths and Abbey, so the walk to them is downhill, but the walk back is uphill. Modern shops are toward the train station near the baths, so if you load up on purchases you will be lugging bags up the hill.

The Circus (a circular street with residences) and Crescent are a very short walk, and the view of the countryside from the Crescent is worth the walk.

The proprietor, Laurence, was very friendly and accommodating, and was like an old friend each time I saw him. Great job, Laurence!

In general, the people around Bath were easy to meet, took time to connect and converse, and were happy to have visitors. The Roman Bath is a nice one/two hour visit, and the numismatist in you will appreciate the collection of Roman coins on display from excavations of the old pools. Thousands of them were found, and span hundreds of years of Roman emperors.

We did not have a car, and understand that parking spaces can be scarce. The cab ride from the train station to the Queensberry was about 10 pounds, and is highly recommended since the trek is mostly uphill.

Room Tip: I would opt for a room above the ground floor. Ours was on the ground floor, and the view was not gr...

I stayed in the Queensberry Hotel for a night with my girlfriend and first among the many surprises that we experienced was a free upgrade to a superior suite room. The room was lovely, with stylish contemporary decor, very bright, clean and welcoming. We felt most at home immediately. The service is excellent, with an extremely helpful and accomodating concierge service, turndown service with complimentary shoe polishing, and of particular note was the well-organized guide to Bath in our room guide. Anything we needed to know about visiting Bath and its attractions and eating places were there and it helped make our trip so much more memorable than if we had relied on our own research. I would definitely recommend the Queensberry Hotel to any couples visiting Bath.
