I've been to the Hope and Anchor many times and always enjoyed it, so decided that for my wife's birthday we would take the brand new two tunnels walk and have a birthday lunch. The walk was just fine, not challenging and lots to look at. The pub was great, really very busy for a Monday afternoon, almost all of the tables were taken, brilliant. Nice menu with lots of different food to choose from, I thought it was a bit pricey but then as it was a birthday that was fine, for an ordinary lunch I'd have to choose more carefully, but then I'm a bit tight. The service was great, I've read some of the earlier reviews about grumpy staff, didn't experience that at all, the young lady who served us was great very charming, knew all about the menu and was very welcoming and encouraged us to return, all in all a great lunch and soon to be repeated.
