Excellent portions of good sound pub grub, piping hot - not as common as one might be entitled to assume! Top quality locally sourced ingredients, plenty of it, in a traditional pub atmosphere, right in the historic centre of Bath. A good lunch - you'ld go a lot further and fare a lot worse...

Called in here on Saturday night wanting food around 8pm. Not many pubs at home do this, but this place does!

Bath Ales on handpump, which was most welcome. Friendly staff, good pub food menu. Reasonable sized portions and not expensive. Food was hot and not rushed but not a long wait either - not everywhere gets the timing right but these guts did.

If you want a nice pint, decent pub food in a cosy little eating area in a pub, then this place is perfect. Very central too.

During 4 days stay in Bath we visited this pub four times. The warm welcome, drinks from coffee to real ale and wine and excellent homed cooked pub food, made this our port in a storm. The staff provided plenty of smiles and the food, especially the fish pie, as well as the drinks while our feet recovered from hours of walking, made this pub a great place to take any sort of break.

We were looking for a place to go for lunch when we were in Bath & came across Sam Weller's by chance. The atmosphere was great. 80's music playing in the background which was a wonderful change from the music you normally get & not too loud either. Staff were very helpful & the food was delicious. Prices were very reasonable & portion sizes were large.

Bathrooms were also very clean, which makes a nice change. I'd recommend this if you're in the city centre.

A well situated pub in the centre of Bath. Easy to find and meet friends, reasonable cost. Meals are quite large so worth 9.95. Toilets are down stairs so,tricky for older folk.
Good range of beers too, friendly staff. Open all day.
