“Lovely weekend visit for young couple.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

Lovely building, great breakfast, nice cat and a good welcome. Felt like staying with friends in a lovely city to visit. 10 min walk into town. Would recommend the bath rooftop spa and Bistro la barrique. Both pricey but great experiences.

Me & my boyfriend stayed here May bank holiday weekend & were very pleased with our stay. The room has lovely views and the bathroom was lovely, with a freestanding red bath.
Place was very close to the main town, only around a 5 minute walk. Parking was hit and miss, but we were very lucky & always managed to find a space! If not, there was free parking not 2 minutes walk away.
They were very aminable with the breakfast times, we wanted ours a bit later (09.30) and that was no problem at all. The owners were very friendly, recommended resturants etc to us & they have a lovely pet cat which visited us regually during our stay!
Overall really enjoyed our stay here & would have no problem staying here again!

The location of this comfortable B & B is very good, being only a few minutes walk from the city attractions and equally close to free parking (parking on the doorstop is highly charged and limited to two-hour stays). The city view room is quiet and has a very nice outlook from the very top of the house (access may be more of a struggle for wider people or those with impaired mobility owing to the narrowness and steepness of the final flight of stairs). The bedroom and bathroom were clean and the king-size bed was comfortable. The hosts were accommodating with our arrival time, welcoming and helpful with our bags. Their knowledge and advice on the city attractions was also useful and warmly given. The continental breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Although this is a B & B, as we were staying for multiple nights, we were told to treat it as we would a hotel and we were made to feel comfortable coming and going as we pleased. All in all our stay was enjoyable, and we would happily stay again. Chris & Zoe (Tavistock, Devon).

This B&B ticked all the boxes for my friend and I, it was in an excellent location (up a very small bit of hill - which is very Bath!) in a nice quiet street that is close to the historial centre of town, the room was very comfortable, the bathroom excellent and the breakfasts of a very high standard indeed - it made a nice change from the usual fry up. The only downside would be if you do have mobility problems the rooms are at the very top of the house, with the last flight of stairs being quite narrow.

The proprietors are very friendly and attentive and we felt we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The cat tried to follow me into the loo, which could be considered too friendly;-)

The location of this tradional Georgian town house could not be better. Everything we wanted to see is easily within walking distance. The street is quiet.

The attic room was charming and the bed comfortable. I was most appreciative of being able to make a cup of tea.

Breakfast was excellent; freshly made savoury and sweet pasties every morning.

Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful.

My partner and |I stayed here after the balf half marathon and although it was a really last minute booking it turned out to be an excellent choice. We checked out the location the day before and became aquainted wih our hosts Sharon and Shaun who immediately made us feel very welcome. The property is truly stunning with great attention to detail. Our room was really cosy and had everything we could possibly need. This is indeed a hidden gem in the classiest neighbourhood in Bath.Looking forward to our return visit!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
We aim to offer our guests a true b&b experience by inviting you to stay with us in our family home. We are a friendly couple with three, mostly well behaved children, and two very friendly cats (please note if you suffer allergies). We only employ one member of staff so it will be us that takes your call, greets you at the door and serves you breakfast in the morning. We want you to enjoy your stay and will do all that we can to make that happen : providing local knowledge and advice and bringing you the things that you need to make your stay fun packed, comfortable, relaxing. Our home is on a quiet residential road that is only a few minutes walk from the centre of town and just around the corner from the famous Circus, Crescent and Assembly rooms. The house typifies Bath architecture, a five storey town house which we recently renovated with an aim to make it modern but with a sympathy to it's original style. There is also a lovely gastro pub at the end of the road that serves delicious food and local ales. Free on-road parking is located within a very short drive and only a five to ten minute walk. This is typically available at all but the busiest times. Otherwise, we recommend Charlotte Street Car Park or the Park and Ride. Check-in time is after 4pm. We can sometimes accommodate earlier check-ins so please call us if you require an earlier time. Unfortunately Monday - Friday we are unable to accommodate check-ins between 2.45 and 3.45 as we are collecting children from school. ... more   less
