Description: Brassiere Brunel – casual dining in a French style brasserie setting with a menu to match,Our newly refurbished restaurant is located in the lovely Grade II listed building designed by the famous architect Isambard Kingdom Brunel and we have named our new dining venue in tribute to this famous designer. The decor and furnishings have been modelled on a traditional Parisian brasserie and the menu features a number of French specialities together with grills, including steaks, for which we are renowned. Wherever possible our food is sourced locally including our steaks from the highly respected Church Farms and the majority of dishes are freshly produced by a first class team of cooks. The menu represents excellent value for money and in addition to the extensive range of very competitively priced a la carte dishes we also offer two fixed price menu options namely, £9.95 for 2 courses and £12.95 for 3 courses.

Ate here one lunchtime on the 3 course set menu. The food was well cooked and the service good. A handy place to eat after shopping in Bath.

Dinner, bed and breakfast deal was very good value for money. Hotel is clean and well presented. Quiet as stayed early January, only a couple of people staying at the time. Parking was handy as Bath can be a nightmare!

Would recommend arranging Spa through hotel - same price as going direct but you get towel and slippers, this would cost you extra at Spa.

Staff very friendly and eager to please!

We ate from the set lunch menu for £12.95 for three courses. The service was great, very friendly and attentive staff. The food was classic with a twist and was very filling and tasty. Particularly enjoyed the beef bourguingnon and the puddings were great too. It's in a good central location too, ideal for lunch after sightseeing or shopping.

After reading some of the other reviews I can only assume since 2011 things have undergone major changes.
We dined last week with friends at Brunel's in the Royal Hotel opposite the Bath Spa train station.
Really excellent service from start to finish.
We loved the decor which is dark and plush, a cross between smart French on Victorian England, clever we thought.
The menu is up market pub food ranging from simple to something extra. It's a big menu and caters for all tastes. We were all four of us, all of us in the hospitality/food industry and we were most happy with the choices, the presentation and flavour. It made for a really nice evening.
I have to say the prices were extremely reasonable .
Many thanks to all the staff

Right opposite the train station. So easy to get around Bath from here. The room was nice and clean, with big bathroom and was very quiet where we were located. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Totally recommend this place
