The wine list in Gascoyne Place is superb.
The list covers every country of significance with many bargains to be enjoyed.
Chateau Tuilerie is the House wine which is magnificent in both white and red forms although there is a varied and diverse range of wines to be enjoyed by the glass.
The perfect place to while away the evening.

We held our wedding reception here, in the downstairs area of Gascoyne and it was perfect. Each and every member of staff showed outstanding levels of service - polite, helpful and friendly at all times. The three course dinner we had was one of the best meals we'd eaten. We're real 'foodies' and wanted to hold our reception in a venue which understood about great food, locally sourced and cooked to perfection.
Nothing was too much trouble. Special mention to Nicky who made the event run without a hitch and was totally unflappable.
We ate here the next day, again the food was brilliant. If you love great food, relaxed atmosphere with happy people, then visit Gascoyne Place as soon as you can.

We reserved a table for dinner and Sunday evening jazz and will remember both as highlights of our month abroad. Given the jazz club ambiance in an unpretentious historic building, we didn't really expect over the top cuisine. It proved a very pleasant surprise. We both chose to start with the fresh and delicious green salad, followed by the salt-marsh lamb served with a delicious curried butternut squash and quinoa dish. The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked with a seared exterior and rare center. For dessert we chose the lemon polenta sponge topped with crushed toasted pistachio and pine nuts and served with raspberry sorbet and swirls of something creamily fabulous. Add some lovely wine, excellent coffee and two sets of the sweet bluesy voice of Sarah Clough and her humble guitar accompanist, "Jake," and it all made for a memorable evening.

A little gem of a restaurant. OK, the decor may not be 5 star, but the food certainly is! We had the seafood risotto and the terrine for starters, and the duck breasts for mains. All were perfectly cooked and delicious. The wine list is not huge, but has some very interesting bottles at reasonable prices. Service was superb. Two courses for two people plus a bottle of wine came to £65. Wouldn't eat anywhere else in Bath.

We visited Gascoyne Place one Friday evening in late May and were not disappointed with the food.
We opted for the set menu's. We ordered for entree's a Cheese Tart, which was delicious, and a Terrine, for the main courses we ordered Duck, which was cooked to perfection, Sea Bream likewise. For desserts we had a Sponge and a Mousse, all washed down with a lovely Italian Pinot Grigio and for the total cost of 44.80 pounds we thought was good value for good food. The service was friendly. The only downside was the ambience of the upstairs gallery where we were seated, a little too out on a limb for our liking, nevertheless, a nice experience. This kitchen produces food of a very good standard and would go back again.
