We had a ladies getaway for the weekend and what a wonderful cottage to arrive to. Robin & Wendy left the perfect food hamper, which was very kind and greatly appreciated. An extremely clean and cosy house. We had a trip to the local pub (The Inn), the food was delicious, and we certainly walked off the calories on the climb back up! Train to bath was just 9 minutes away and we enjoyed the Christmas Market, and afternoon tea at the Royal Crescent Hotel. I hope we didn't leave too much glitter behind (it came off of our prosocco bottle). We cleaned and tidied it up - but it gets everywhere. x
Just returned from a long weekend at 2 Stable Cottages and cannot think of a more enjoyable break. Fabulous accommodation, countryside to die for, excellent local inn and all only a 9 minute train ride from the centre of Bath. Cottage only under 5 minutes walk to station but check train times first! Wendy and Robin super hosts. Only snag coming from London, Sat Nav took us off at Junction 17 from M4 - if you want one track roads for 20 miles this is for you. IF NOT follow hosts instructions to go to Junction 18 and enjoy A roads until last mile!
Stayed for a long weekend with our two little boys whilst visiting some friends in Bath, and couldn't have been happier with Stable Cottage!
The cottage itself was lovely, very clean and the owners even left breakfast supplies for us which was a nice touch.
It's situated in a beautiful old village with a very good pub.
The tiny train station in the village made it really easy to get to from London, and then was less than 20 mins to pop into Bath for all the shopping/sightseeing.
Despite the weather's best efforts (typical English summer!!), we had a lovely walk down the Avon riverside and finished up at the Crossguns for a proper Sunday roast.
Fully recommend Stable cottage for families looking for a more serene, less touristy way to visit Bath.
