Great Sunday lunch served all day until they run out.
The staff were lovely and the food a real treat not the cheapest but well worth the extra few pounds

I thoroughly enjoyed the 3 courses I had at Chequers, my only issue is that I would have liked a bit more choice, even it was in the form of 2/3 specials rather than extending the menu. This isn't to take anything away from the food they do, as what they cook is certainly to a very high standard. Its a more casual place than I thought it would be so you don't have to dress up. Would I go back ? Maybe ! I think id probably try other places first.

This has always been a very reliable gastro pub, but we had the best experience this Summer. Friends were visiting from the USA and they brought another couple from Oxford, both families had four children between 3-8. There was also me, my partner and a postdoc also visiting from America. We ordered 4 of their "sharing" brunches, meant to be for 2 people each, and the 7 adults and 4 kids had more than enough of just truly amazing food (two beef roasts, two pork cuts.) We were on a huge old wood table in the front window and the kids didn't bother anyone. We had to book a day ahead because of the number of people, but the staff were great. Normally my husband and I come here for drinks & sometimes dinner. There are outdoor tables but on the north side and they don't do food there, but it's a good place for a drink on a warm day. Sunday "lunch" is served all day Sunday by the way.

Had a great experience tonight! The Aussie waitress was great and the head chef really knows his stuff! The food was faultless, I honestly have no negatives! You wouldn't know this pub was in a chain, as it is miles better than the company's other pubs! They don't even come close to this, and I would put this down to the young and talented head chef!
