There was a time when TGIs was the place to go for good service and fairly decent food. This is no longer the case based on this visit. The service was way below average and the food was frankly under par and quite awful, we didn't even stay for dessert. Won't be going there again.

We visited TGI's redently and as always had a lovely meal that was cooked perfectly.

Sometimes the "chain" restaurants disappoint and I suppose they are only as good as the people that work in them but the TGI's in Bath never disappoints so they have a great team in place there.

The service provided by our Waiter, Corey, was excellent and friendly and he made the whole experience one to remember.

We had some excellent cocktails before eating and they even made up some that were not on the standard menu.

All in all a lovely evening.

Although I use the term loosely I dined there today. Restaurant cold and unkempt. Never been a fan of seeing other guests dirty leftover plates on tables. Asked for a booth and told couldn't incase they got busy (6 tables in total already in use) so eventually pleaded for a booth which we got. Slow service, constantly chased service for drinks and food. Starter sounded good but should have been described as deep fried meat with lettuce then main course completely cold. Manager did apologise and said it's because they had been busy. Hate to see what you get served when there is more than 10% of the restaurant sat. Offered free desserts as apology yet still got charged. Finally paid and couldnt get out fast enough. With the sheer volume of choice in Bath avoid like the plague.

While in the city of Bath and shamefully short on ideas as to where to eat I thought we'd go here. The US version of the chain is dependable and the food is quite nice. It makes me wonder then, how they can make such a hash of it here and have the bare faced cheek to charge so much for so basic a meal.

The positives - the staff were very nice and attentive and the service was pretty quick to be fair.

The negatives - we spent just short of £30 for a chicken sandwich and chips, burger and chips, some onion rings and two diet cokes. For that much, the burger should be gourmet and freshly made, the chips should be freshly cut and the onion rings should be hand made. The chicken sandwich should be something special made with fresh ingredients.

The chicken sandwich was ok really - made with fresh ingredients this is a difficult dish to get wrong and it was ok.

The burger, however, was not freshly made, the chips were not freshly cut and were over cooked and the onion rings were obviously made from frozen.

For the money, this was a pathetic effort and I feel robbed. Having had an exquisite burger elsewhere this week, this was a huge let down and a reminder of how chain restaurants like TGI and Frankie & Bennys treat customers like morons by charging premium prices for appallingly un imaginative dishes, badly prepared, anything but fresh - usually stodgy, seldom delicious. They are like universities of mediocrity where people learn what poor food is like to help them appreciate better food elsewhere.

I also remember how just now awfully cringeworthy the experience of watching some poor poor unfortunate having happy birthday sung for them is. Only now, instead of it being a half baked effort perpetrated by the staff, it seems reluctant guests are roped into the 'experience'. Just awful.

First time for me in a UK TGI in years and the last time ever. If you're thinking about eating here - don't bother. Seek out a better restaurant that isn't part of some soulless chain that wants your money without a care for your meal.
