We go to Shrewsbury fairly often and there is a huge choice of eateries, but we have to keep trying them all, so this week we decided upon Mad Jacks - mainly because of most of the comments on Trip Advisor. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We didn't catch sight of a menu outside so I was a tad apprehensive. The menu's came and although I wasn't bowled over by it, there were a few things on there that I fancied. I went for the Shropshire steak sandwich and my Mum went for the fish and chips. We both thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and there were deals on for the number of courses you wanted. We both had just the 1 course; mine was £9 and Mums was £10. We had a hot chocolate and a pint of coke and that took it up to £26.50. I thought £7.50 for 2 drinks was a bit extreme, but unfortunately that is how most restaurants make their money these days. All in all, a nice meal which was very well presented and tasty at a reasonable price. My own personal preference would be for some more traditional items on the menu, but it was satisfactory.
