Description: Shrewsbury's most popular independent cafe bar and restaurant, located opposite the historic Shrewsbury Abbey, the building itself dates back to the 15th century but with a modern twist. We are situated directly next door to Havana Republic bar and restaurant, and also Momo No Ki Ramen Noodle Bar. We also offer a wide selection of cakes and pastries throughout the day accompanied by a great range of coffees, teas and hot chocolate too. Reservations are advisable, and can be made by telephone, Facebook, Twitter, or through our website.

I eat here often, they do great lunchtime meals, including several choices for £5, which is excellent value. They have nice tables outside and its a good sun trap overlooking the Abbey. The atmosphere for evening dining is very good with lots of areas in difference styles, so it doesn't look large a large venue and there's something for everyone decor wise. Good food, modern style with a twist. Good value for money, good choice of drinks, again good value. Its also nice to go for just a coffee and danish pastry....All in all it's just a nice place with nice staff doing good food, what more could you want?

we ate at the peach tree in january with the taste card the staff were great, very accomodating and friendly, the atmosphere is really relaxed nothing is too much trouble,i did not want chunky chips with my steak so they let me have an alternative, the bottle of shiraz was lovley,no room for a pudding, shame.the only one little hitch was we asked for our steak to be meadium rare and a good vet could have saved it and now we wish we had sent it back,as i know they would have sorted it out,you just dont like to make a fuss do you when people are so nice.

We've been here a few times in 2012, and a few times in the latter half of 2011, and it has been a decent experience every time. The atmosphere is friendly, and welcoming, and the restaurant is comfortable enough. We mainly visited as a stop off after or before something else - e.g. Cinema, Shopping, visiting friends, etc., and consider it to be a decent all rounder for something of an informal nature - I personally wouldn't choose this place for a special occasion (I just don't feel it is special enough), but I would definitely go here for a quick bite to eat.

There is a deal menu (£10 for 2 courses) for early arrival (before 7:30?), and this seems to have options from the main menu, so can be a good choice if you want it quick and cheap. The menu doesn't seem to change enough for my liking though, but it is (a little at least) more adventurous than many of the mainstream chain places on offer locally (I shudder at the thought).

The restaurant is connected to a bar on one side, and a club on the other... so on certain nights, when it gets late enough, it can become a little more 'busy' outside the front window and people walking through from one area to another... this does make it preferable (for us at least) to plan to avoid these times if we want a quiet meal together. However, this does mean you can get some nice cocktails if you ask.

Overall, I would suggest going here for a quick bite to eat - the food is well cooked, the menu is a decent bistro style, and the prices aren't too bad. You might want to look elsewhere for something "really special", and may want to plan the time you eat to avoid any noisy crowds for the other parts of the establishment... unless of course you want to go to these too.

After visiting the Abbey, this restaurant was pointed out to us as being just across the road. We were looking for tea/coffee and cake. The general atmosphere was more like a bar or a pub than a restaurant and it was initially hard to find where we were supposed to go. We were finally given a table but the service was very slow - we waited about 30 minutes for a hot drink and the cakes we had already selected. It may be very suitable for a main meal, but not for afternoon tea.
