Free site that allows your dogs on lead. Much larger than you think, many info boards around the site. Nice for a picnic on a warm day as a lot of grass areas.
Many photos to take and rolling countryside to view as well.

We enjoyed our visit here. There is quite a lot to see and quite a few photo opportunities too. It is well worth a visit. Although you can go round the site quite quickly I would recommend at least an hour or more to see everything properly.

English Heritage site but was unmanned so free. It was fairly quiet so a peaceful place to wander round. The many notice boards explain what each part was for. There is quite a lot to see. Takes about 30-45 minutes.

My daughter and I came to wander around the grounds. It was a open, but there were no one else there. It's part of the English Heritage. The grounds are nicely kept, and there some ruins to wander around. It makes you think of what may have occured here all those years ago.....it doesn't take long to wander.....15 minutes? But enjoyed seeing it all the same.

If your into history, or religious sites this is a good place to come. Free to enter and takes 30/45 mins to have a good look at the site with plenty of info boards around showing what it looked like and how it was used.
Could do with a small cafe selling drinks and snacks, as it’s off the main roads, and this place would be perfect.
There’s a good woodland walk near the ruins.
