Absolutely beautiful park, alongside the lovely river Severn. A must to visit is the Single - stunning place to pause a while. We were here last for the new Shrewsbury Food Festival held here in June, brilliant event and well worth a visit. In August it's the world famous Shrewsbury flower show held here - unmissable!

The Quarry Park, Shrewsbury is a lovely expanse of green space in the middle of Shrewsbury. The River Severn runs through the middle of it and the "Quarry" as we call it always has lots of people making use of it. Whether it is to walk along the river path, jog, cycle, exercise their dog, take the toddlers for a walk or to take them to play in the lovely children's playground which is in the middle of the "Quarry".

On the second weekend of August, the Shrewsbury Flower Show takes place in the Quarry and the Quarry is transformed into a mass of tents displaying beautiful flowers, handicrafts, beekeeping, etc etc. The bandstand is used constantly during this time by 3 military bands who play all day until late at night. The evenings of the Flower Show always end with a magnificent fireworks display.

The Dingle, is situated in the middle of the Quarry. This houses a fantastic garden which was designed by Percy Thrower many years ago and is a truly magical place to go. It has many wonderful gardens, a large pond with beautiful fountains, statues and lots of benches on which you can just sit and admire the beautiful gardens, have a picnic or feed the birds and the ducks.

During August when the Shrewsbury Flower Show takes place, The Dingle is a hive of activity with thousands of visitors admiring the beautiful flower displays and perhaps taking the opportunity to have some 'quiet time' away from the hustle and bustle of the Show.

If you are visiting Shrewsbury, please visit the Quarry Park and The Dingle, they really are well worth it.

The Quarry Park is a must for anyone visiting Shrewsbury,. Don't miss the 'Dingle' The council workers do a wonderful job planting the most fantastic flower displays. If you are here in August we have the yearly Flower Show. Check out the dates.

Pretty sunken garden, so tranquil and beautiful. Apparently designed by Percy thrower, who remembers him ?

This area is a credit to Shrewsbury. Set by the beautiful river Severn, there is plenty of space to wander and explore. The Dingle in particular is a stunning area of flower beds, pond and fountain. And it is a few steps away from the wonderful county town.
