“A Treasure Trove for old and young”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Attingham is only 5 miles from our house and so is within easy reach for us with our grandchildren. The walk through the woods to the children's playground - recently upgraded by the staff with the usual swings etc but also with many climbing features and tunnels for children of ages 3 - 10 particularly. For the more popular times of year there is the 'Greedy Pig' cafe in the very fruitful orchard where in Autumn there is an Apple Festival. The walk continues either along the banks of the River Tern or through the Deer Park. It is all very natural with discreet improvements such as good pathways and bridges and lovely views of the surrounding countryside. There are frequent seasonal trails for children to follow and the staff have taken great pains to make the whole estate an enjoyable family outing.

The house is also very interesting but really for the older visitor (18+). It is always evident that the staff care greatly about Attingham and the management are keen to make the visitor experience as good as possible. The renovation of the Hall is a priority and is proceedinga pace and the restoration of the walled garden is truly a labour of love for those volunteers who work in it.

In a word - brilliant!

“Stunning house and park, the best TEA”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Thought the house is beautiful as is the park, the highlight of Attingham is the wonderful tea room in the old library. Served from Feb to Nov, by delightful staff there is a sweet tea tray, savoury one of a mixed. All drinks are available including prosecco to make it really memorable ! I'd recomend the walks in the deer part too.

“Wonderful walks!”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Attingham Park is a wonderful place to go for a short stroll or a long leisurely walk. Wander along the River Severn or get lost along the many trails and pathways through the woodlands. Explore the history of the mansion, the walled garden or even the old WWII infirmary. Great play area for children, young and old, which allows children to develop a real sense of adventure. Grab a coffee and a snack in one of the cafes or some fresh, Home grown food from the walled garden to take home. Whether you've got half and hour spare or a few hours, there is plenty to see and do.

“I am lucky to live so close”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

As this is my closest NT Estate, we visit it on a regular basis, mainly to walk around the grounds on the many different routes. The staff are very innovative with fresh ideas to attract adults and children alike. The next function is a three day Frost Fair on the 29, 30 Nov and 1sr December for all those Xmas gifts. The information given on the deer park is also interesting with school trips gettting a close up view of the herd.

“Plenty to see and do”

Lovely National Trust property, even if you're not into country houses, there parkland is superb, plenty of walks to suit all abilities and a brilliant children's adventure playground. Good tea rooms too!
