Certificate of Excellence

We stayed here for our honeymoon 40 years ago and returned for our 40th. The staff were very welcoming and the valet parking was a bonus. The Prince Rupert suite was in the oldest part of the building, wonky floors and walls but authentic. Sadly we could not climb in to the roll top bath! service in the hotel and Chambers Restaurant was excellent and the food was well presentedand cooked to perfection. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: If you are less than agile, or 6ft tall, choose a room with a shower.

An interesting hotel, the bedroom accommodation allocated to me was small, with thin walls and draughty windows, though I believe the older parts of the building had bigger and better bedrooms.

Breakfast came with an attentive waitress service and food was of good quality. In the evening we ate in one of the restaurants and the food was of reasonable.

This is a hard hotel to rate. "Average" seems harsh but it is closer to "Good" than "Very Good".

Our second visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed. Stayed in a standard double room this time (not one on the suites as before) and it was very comfortable and well presented. Staff polite and friendly as last time ... at this rate have a chance becoming regulars!!!
Maybe they will offer a discount on our third visit? :-)

Ideal location for shopping and visiting places of interest in shrewsbury town, they parked our car and with being in easy reach of everything we wanted to do on our two day stay we didn't need it again. The twin room was lovely and beds comfortable. Staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast very good. Would certainly use the hotel again on our next shopping trip to Shrewsbury

We stayed at this hotel over the weekend of April 5,6, &7 2013 and really enjoyed being in such a nice location and so central. Because there is no car park at the hotel we had to leave the car keys with the staff who then took the car to a nearby park, this however was not a problem and we were able to have the car delivered back to the hotel by giving approx 30 minutes notice. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was very good with an excellent choice. There are some very good restaurants and tea rooms within a short walk. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and bar snacks and hot or cold drinks were readily available.
One criticism: a lack of any tourist information in the hotel!

Second visit to this lovely hotel. We were given the Prince Rupert Suite with a marvellous four poster bed. Service and comfort excellent. Breakfast was plentiful with a first class choice of food and hot food freshly cooked. Valet parking made check in easy and relaxing. One of the best hotels I have stayed in and in my profession I have visited many!
