This is one of the few remaining privately owned hotels. A lovely country house recently renovated into (my view) a 4* hotel. There is a well kept garden with views overlooking rolling hills and long horned cows. Where this hotel really wins over others in which I have stayed is the staff. We were greeted with smiles and asked if any help could be given from the outset. The evening waiting staff were just lovely. Which brings me to the crowning glory - the restaurant. I have eaten at Michelin starred restaurants and this one is up there with them. The meal (6 courses) was perfect, I simply cannot fault it. I'd recommend this hotel, especially as a romantic weekend treat.

We spent 3 nights over a weekend, and dined in on the Friday night. The room was large & well appointed , very comfortable bed, with a large bathroom & a huge bath, all very clean. We were met by an extremely pleasant waiter when we went down for dinner , and after a pre dinner drink in the lounge we had an excellent meal (one of the best for some time) served with enthusiasm and efficiency. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful throughout our stay. Well worth a visit. We shall be returning, this time in the hope of exploring more of Ludlow which can be difficult to get into let alone find a parking space !

Stayed here for one night - good deal on a Sunday if you eat in the restaurant. The hotel is good, a bit more attention could be paid to little details like removal of cobwebs - but other than that it was very comfortable with good beds. It is stylish and well decorated with good use of colour. However the food more than makes up for everthing else. Our meal was fantastic - course after course of beautifully presented and very tasy food served by very knowledgable and friendly staff.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent.

This was a return visit and if anything a little better than last time. Super location with peacful country nights, so no disturbed sleep make Fishmore Hall a good escape. Good staff that actually do care and a management that also realises they are running a hotel where the service ethos is so important unlike so many other hotels in England .
Will be back again as it makes sense and Ludlow is just tops ..........

We booked B&B with evening meal included at a good rate directly with the hotel. When we arrived we had been upgraded to a superior room. That's what I call a good start! Lovely lady on reception showed us to the room. The bedroom was large and modern as was the bathroom. Walk in shower and standalone bath. All very elegant. Asked if we would like fresh milk for our tea...that doesn't happen very often..normally UHT packs! (Minor point, but shows they care and think about it).
We took dinner in the restaurant - three courses in with room rate (-50%). Staff were good and friendly. Food was very good. Verging on the Michelin star grade and I have no doubt that is what they are looking for. Good luck to them too.
Generally, a very pleasant place to stay around Ludlow. Would recommend to others.

I've stayed in alot of hotels, some quite fancy, however this hotel just had something that I fell in love with. I'm not sure if it was the massive airy room or the big bathroom with double shower and bath or just the whole experience there... I loved it!! Maybe it's because we were coming from apartment living in London..? Our room was spotless, free wi-fi, newspaper delivered every morning, fantastic food in the restaurant and lovely waiting staff. My only comment would be those poor girls doing breakfast seemed to be run off their feet leaving us waiting ages for a bread basket. But overall fantastic 2 night stay here, would definitely come again and recommend it. P.S. It's only a 20 min max walk into Ludlow, however the last bit of the walk back has no lights so maybe a mini torch would be worth bringing:-)

I wanted a one night getaway to chill and thought that this would fit the bill.
The hotel is lovely and the room had a really fantastic view but there was something lacking in the overall experience and I can only sum it up by saying that everything felt measured or at times rationed. The food in the restaurant was lovely and really well presented but oh the portions were so small. The breakfast was lovely too but again you had a set amount and were not offered more eg coffee, juice. When I did ask for coffee,it came but with no milk! So I am pleased I have been because it was an experience but would not rush back
