As a fan of Ludlow, I was delighted to find such a unique and beautiful hotel so close to the town. We paid just £99 for a one night stay in a standard room and we couldn't have been happier.

The room was comfortable, clean and well equipped, with a modern, stylish bathroom and a good shower.

The staff were courteous and professional and were very happy to deal with any questions or issues that we had. The Wifi in our room wasn't working when we arrived, within a matter of half an hour the router had been changed and the Internet worked fine.

The spa facilities are quite small but they are well looked after and offer a good range of treatments. We made use of our three hours of free usage (because we booked direct with the hotel) and enjoyed a lazy afternoon in the hot tub, hammock, summer house and thermal suite.

The breakfast was very nice and included in the price.

If you are looking for a personalised, professional, family run hotel, for little more than the price of a Travel Lodge then Fishmore Hall comes highly recommended.

Room tip: Book direct with the hotel and you will benefit from free use of the spa facilities for three hours.

A fantastic stay all round. We were looking for a romantic countryside retreat where we could relax, unwind and enjoy some great food. Our expectations were met and exceeded! The room was lovely, the staff were very attentive, the food was incredible (we had the tasting menu with the wine pairing one night and 3 courses from the bistro the second night, and breakfast each morning!), and the spa treatments and facilities were brilliant; we each had a full body massage and enjoyed the hot tub, steam room, sauna and reading our books outside on the decking overlooking the fields. The complimentary room upgrade, freshly baked biscuits brought to the room on arrival, and the option of late checkout were all very nice touches and greatly appreciated. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

Regarding location it is about 25mins walk to Ludlow castle. Ludlow is certainly worth visiting and also the surrounding fields and forests are great for those looking for good walks/cycle routes. The hotel itself is surrounded by fields which makes it very serene. We were here over the Easter weekend and had a view of the lambs from our window, and could see the calves from the hotel garden.

Room tip: We stayed in room 25 which had a lovely view of the fields

This is apparently amongst the best hotels for dealing with mobility-impaired folk. It is pretty good with some very spacious facilities (there was a very impressive walk-in shower in our room, a very substantial bed and good lighting but the room was a bit external to the main hotel building). Having said that, there were only 2 disabled parking slots, many of the entrances did not lend themselves to easy wheelchair access, some of the paths around the buildings had pot holes and the toilets were a touch on the low side. Having said that, the place of comfortable and the staff generally helpful. The Breakfast was extremely good and the evening dinner well-presented (if a Little fiddly for my taste). The hotel also has a Spa in the grounds with sauna, hot tub, loungers et cetera.

Booked for afternoon tea with a voucher I'd received for Christmas! The staff from the first minute were well presented, polite and helpful! The afternoon tea was absolutely fantastic! I would recommend it to anyone. We intend to return for an overnight stay (after been shown the rooms by the lovely receptionist) and hopefully to enjoy some pampering in the Spa!

Stayed for 2 nights 10th to 12th April in Room 6 as a birthday treat for the wife. First impressions were good, everything looked immaculate outside, and inviting once inside. We had pre-booked spa treatments and the a la carte menu before arrival as well.

Taken to our room, and I was not convinced this was a superior room, the room was a little rough round the edges and in need of some TLC, but nothing too serious to detract from our stay.

Once unpacked, we decided to enjoy a cup of tea and despite no biscuits being in the room, as is normal, you only need to call reception for some fresh cookies which were sent up and were incredible. It was also nice to enjoy fresh milk instead of the usual UHT pots you normally get.

We then decided to use the Spa facilities (These are included if you book direct with the hotel) and were given a guided tour of where everything was before changing in to our robes and slippers. The spa is quite small and I would imagine if it was a busy weekend, you would need to wait to use the Steam room, sauna and hot tub, but we had the facilities to ourselves which was nice. The views from the hot tub are incredible. One minor thing for me, was the fence installed around the hot tub limited the view somewhat, but there must be a reason this was done.

The a la carte dinner was incredible, breads to start, the marmite butter was so tasty, Frog Leg kiev and quail for starters was tasty and filling, and sets the bar for the main courses. Venison Wellington and Iberico Pork, just wow, so many flavours jumping out, we had the Apple Tarte Tatin for dessert and this was the star of the show, melt in the mouth dessert leaving you wanting more. In addition an amuse bouche and pre-dessert were also served.

Breakfast sets you up for the day ahead, with a buffet style cereal station (make your own muesli) and toast served to the table and the full english was both tasty and plentiful. We did not need lunch after that.

We both had a lava shell massage in the spa with Kayte and Abbie and they both relaxed us, and made sure we were comfortable throughout, and we once again used the spa facilities after to relax and wind down.

We ate in the BIstro on the second night and the food in here was just as good as the fine dining on a less formal basis. Ham hock croquettes, pork belly and peanut butter brownie were really good and my wife enjoyed the soup, chicken and mousse. The chef does really well on the food in both restaurants.

All in all a really good stay and enjoyable food and good spa. Just one mark off due to the room, but do not let that detract from what a wonderful hotel this is. The staff were helpful and friendly and it is always a bonus when bar prices are not designed to rip you off, the prices of drinks is what I would pay back home.

p.s. The charger plates put out in the evening were smart and would look nice at home. If you are able to let me know where they came from it would be appreciated.
