“bit disappointed”
Reviewed September 18, 2011

Stayed friday night with my daughter and partner as it was her birthday treat from us.We had booked executive rooms but dont think they were worth it. they were clean and comfortable and baths very nice.
We ate in the Forelles restaurant,on the travel zoo 6 course tasting package meal was so dragged out by uninterested staff each course was presented on huge plates but food could of fitted on a tablespoon even main was three thub nail size slices of lamb .The breakrast was only ok full english with overcooked eggs and mostly cold.Very disappointed with food have done loads of taster meals including Moat House at Acton Trussel and they have been wonderfull giving good portions and quality. On the plus side they allowed my daughters dog {at a £30 fee} and he enjoyed the short walk into Ludlow.

£ 30 and he enjoyed the walk into Ludlow

Room Tip: number 4was ok

Stayed at Fishmore Hall on a kgb 2 night deal and we were really impressed. The situation of the hotel is fabulous. We were allocated Room 1 which was in an annexe at the side of the hotel and we had a lounge, bedroom with the biggest and most comfortable bed I have slept in and the most luxurious walk in shower/bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, served in a lovely conservatory overlooking Clee Hill, with cereals, meats, a basket of toast/croissants and danish pastries and a lovely full english. One day I had porridge with whisky and brown sugar which was also delicious. The waiters in the dining room were a joy and very efficient. We walked into Ludlow one evening which was about a mile and the keyring even had a torch on so we could find our way back! Would love to go back, but for longer than 2 nights, and would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

Room Tip: If you have any walking difficulties Room 1 is perfect

We spent last weekend at Fishmore Hall. The staff were very welcoming and the bedrooms very clean and comfortable. The food was outstanding and the wines were very reasonably priced. We chose Fishmore Hall for an annual walking holiday for 10 friends and we were given a private room for dining on both nights. The hotel even sent me a book of Ludlow walks prior to the weekend so we could plan our walks. I would return without hesitation and would recomment it to friends.

As previous guests at this hotel, we are sent special offers and this one was for an all inclusive “Wine Dinner package”. A room for 2 for 1 night, and a 6 course meal in Forelles restaurant, with canapes, all wines, coffee and petit fours, full English breakfast and VAT with two tickets to the first day of the Ludlow Festival included.
Wine Dinner Evening - sophisticated and fun experience, fabulous food and wine - you must try it!!.
Room - Modern 'boutique' hotel style, comfortable and well equipped.
Service - Adequate; not super friendly nor attentive, you sometime have to seek the staff out! - This is why only 4 stars from us.
Breakfast - Fantastic and the new conservatory is lovely in the morning sun.
Overall this deal was not cheap, but you do get a lot for your money. We would thoroughly recommend the restaurant... the food is among the best we've had anywhere.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the front of the building for best views.

A fabulous restored Georgian house. Good food (as reported by friends who ate dinner there the previous evening). Good room with superking bed & Molton Brown toiletries plus a decent hairdryer rather than one of those useless things wired into a wall! Such a shame that service at breakfast was so woefully slow. It took over 30 minues for cooked food to arrive & a further 10 minutes for the remaining two dishes to come meaning we didn't actually eat together. When my Eggs Benedict did arrive one of the yolks was broken & had begun to congeal on the plate. Clearly the dish had been sat in the kitchen, the food wasn't that hot but after 40 minutes wait it was easier to just eat it. Disappointing to arrive back after dinner in town & have to sit in the dining-room for final drinks; the only sittiing room closed off for a private function. At these rates slow service & lack of a seating area isn't really acceptable. The hotel needs more staff & better training.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the garden room/dining room for sublime views

I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, we picked it due to a special offer in the resturant and decided to make a night of it with friends and stay over so not to worry about having the odd glass of wine too.

From the momement we checked in I was impressed with the hotel the rooms they were very nice and modern and a nice colour theme, they had nice touches on the refreshment tray in the room. Fab wet room shower which was very nice!

We ate in the resturant for dinner we had the taster menu and it was supurb no complaints from our table it was really wonderful food.

Breakfast in the morning was really good plenty of options - it didnt think I would find room to eat it after the feast of the dinner the night before but it was so yummy!!

Would I recomend a stay - yes as and as an indulgent treat book in for evening dinner too it was fab.

Thank you fishmore hall for a wonderful stay
