A great hotel - perfect for a weekend break in Ludlow. Situated in a quiet countryside location, but just 10 minutes stroll from the town centre and beautiful riverside walks. Spotlessly clean throughout. A lovely lounge area with a well stocked bar. Comfortable, good sized rooms, with friendly and helpful staff. Excellent value for money. We will definitely be back!

Stayed for one night between Christmas and New Year. Looks a bit unassuming on the outside, but on the inside it is a nice comfortable and clean hotel. Bedroom on the second floor (no lift) had great view of castle, was very clean, nicely decorated and updated (LCD TV, good shower etc). Breakfast service was friendly and full very good. Didn't eat there in the evening, so can't comment other than to say the menu looked a little pedestrian but looked good value. Great example of a good small privately owned 2* hotel - and good value for the price. Town centre is 10-15 min stroll up short, but not very steep, hill. Hotel is also dog friendly.

Ludlow is a wonderful place with lots to try out. The hotel is placed with just enough of a walk into the centre and a safe trip home in the dark after a drink or two. We only had an overnight stay but room had everything you could need and was clean and comfy. Breakfast was enjoyable in a pleasant room. Didn't try hotel food but perhaps next time as would definitely go there again.

Our one-night stay at The Cliffe was ideal for visiting and exploring Ludlow, after reaching the town via a fairly steep hill and a ten minutes walk. The hotel is unashamedly 2-star, though deserving more, but is warm, cosy, beautifully clean, and very good value indeed. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast excellent. Car parking is spacious. Although we chose not to eat in, the menus were impressive together with a good selection of wines, all reasonably priced. It was quiet and restful - and certainly a small hotel we would visit again sometime. Our twin-bed room, though a little small, was spotless and very comfortable. Congratulations are offered to Manager/Owner Helen and her staff for the high standards provided at such a competitive price.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the town and castle would be the most attractive.

My wife and I stayed for two nights to see what Ludlow had to offer. The room was large and clean with great views across the river to the castle. Breakfast was lovely and the bar in the evening was very welcoming after a walk back from town.
There are great walks by the river and the hill into Ludlow isn't too bad..

I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay at the hotel and glad that you found the staff welcoming. As you say the river walks are very pleasant and only a ten minute walk into town. Hope you'll come and stay with us again one day.

My friend and I stayed overnight , so that we could shop in Ludlow. I have stayed here before so knew what to expect. The hotel is well situated, a quiet and pretty area, Ideal for visiting Ludlow, parking is good.
The rooms were very clean and warm, tea and coffee facilities were plentiful and we had no complaints.
We didn't have much contact with the staff, but what little we had (it was only an overnight stay) they were pleasant.
The breakfast was lovely, no complaints, however, I opted for the scrambled egg) which was delicious), when I asked the young gent serving us that morning for an extra slice of toast, it was given to me quite happily, but he carried it from the kitchen in his hand and passed it to me by hand, no plate, toast rack or anything. My friend and I found this quite amusing others might not .

Thanks for a pleasant stay

Two nights spent here visiting Ludlow - room cramped on top floor, but the rest of the hotel
was well set out with a good bar and pleasant breakfast room. Breakfasts a real high point
with first class bacon and butchers sausages . Dined in bar one night and food was good
and moderately priced. Staff very pleasant . An easy walk over Dinham Bridge to town,
leave the car in the carpark!
