“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is easy to miss if you are traveling towards Ludlow not so much so the other way. Full of nothing but quality food which, of course, comes at a price. The place to go to get quality and fine foods but not necessarily bargains. A good way to spend an hour and some money!

“Well worth a diversion!”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Easy to zoom past this on the busy A49 to Ludlow, but we were glad we came back to it after dismissing a dismal pub in Craven Arms. Clean, modern, reasonably priced for a lunchtime snack ande able to browse the food hall as well. In my opinion the food hall apart from being modern and spacious did not offer anything out of the ordinary.

“Best coffee in the UK!”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

I have stopped by the Ludlow Kitchen twice this week for a coffee and both times they have tasted absolutely out of this World! Not too bitter, a hint of citrus and with silky butterscotch notes.
The coffee barista's definately know what they are doing here, but don't take my word for it ... Try it for yourself! And the food is great too - can't wait for the new restaurant to open!

“Upmarket but excellent quality”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

We accidentally visited. On a trip back from Liverpool I decided to call into the Clive which, the last time I passed, was a proper pub - that was decades ago! Put off by the high prices of the lunch menu we popped next door to the Food Centre to use the cafe.

The cafe was expensive but good and the staff were very helpful. We asked for beef sandwiches but they'd run out of bread. So they made up some baguettes. It was premium, artisan type bread. the beef was of excellent quality and perfectly cooked. The horseradish came from the dressing on the side salad which was an interesting twist. Definately high quality and wholesome food even if served on paper plates but at £4.50 for a sandwich and £1.80 for a tea it was big city prices in the countryside. If there was a negaitive it was that the cafe decor was less than cozy and a bit community centreish. It does offer a good view over the food hall below though. Next month they open a new free standing cafe next door which, no doubt, will be better.

The food store had a wide selection of very high quality meats and vegetables although prices were more reasonable than I'd expected. I assumed that a lot of it is sourced locally. It was nice to watch the butchers and bakers preparing food through glass inspection panels. Clientele definately posh. Who else shops in wellingtons?

Definately worth a visit though especially for luxury items. Not sure it'll steal many customers from Asda but I'll certainly be back.
