Visited here tonight with my husband. Have only had Thai once before in London but compared to this place, London didn't feel as authentic. We had three courses: Chicken Satay, Ribs then Weeping Tiger and Chicken Kra Prow with Jasmine Rice and Noodles. Then we tried the puds which were Siam Cottage (a green banana leaf pancake stuffed with coconut, milk and peanuts served with ice cream and a steamed banana in coconut cream (this one comes hot...!) So for all that including two Tiger beers, two lemonades, a coffee and a jasmine tea -only £53.00. Now that's value for money. What I particularly liked was that the two young ladies waiting tables were very friendly and professional, however, the game was stepped up when the owner joined them. She REALLY knows her menu and restaurant. An extremely professional young Thai lady who took the time to train her staff and discuss and explain all the food to us. We felt very welcomed, treated very well and because of this will go there again. Also, our food came very quickly and was piping hot - always a bonus!
I have two niggles: don't serve "squirty" cream with puds - let's have fresh or none at all - tinned spray cream really took the quality away from the pudding. Also, we sat on the ground floor at the window which has etched glass and a TV screen which shows the kitchen busily cooking meals. A good idea from the outside, but when you're sat at this particular table, all you can see is the back of a TV screen which totally blocks the fantastic view of the Ironbridge! A shame but easily rectified.
The menu is really quite extensive and is also available as take out.
I would absolutely recommend a visit to this place, friendly, professional staff and the food is wonderful.
