set next to River Severn this pub/restaurant/guest house had a comfortable atmosphere. The room amenities were of a good standard and we found the staff were friendly and helpful. Nice range of speciality beers and the breakfast was excellent yum!. Unexpectedly we found that there is a huge power station situated behind the beer garden whilst is unsurprisingly not mentioned. However it doesn't really detract from what is on offer. What can be a nuisance though is the army of midges due to the river location and the time of year. It would not put me off a return trip.

The Meadow Inn is situated a good 10 minute walk outside of Ironbridge, the walk itself was pleasant, but could be a problem if raining (as we found out!) and we had to use the very efficient Central taxis. The room we stayed in was the Bollywood (Not sure why this was named Bollywood?) on the ground floor next to a very busy road, the room itself was large, clean and comfortable, bathroom ok. As mentioned in previous reviews there is an extremely small TV but this would only bother people if they wanted to use it. The pub does meals and we sampled this on the first night, all I can say was that it was ok, my steak was tasteless and the same went for the starter of hummus. The breakfast on the first morning was lovely, the second morning was a different matter as the door was only open a couple of minutes before we arrived and our order was taken by a lad who obviously didn't usually do this job, the eggs were undercooked and the bacon and sausage seemed to have been hanging around since last night. The pub has a nice beer garden just under 4 MASSIVE cooling towers (these aren't shown on their webpage!) but we kinda got used to them. We headed to Ironbridge for our second evening meal and went to the seven restaurant, it was fabulous, an absolute must, the staff were fantastic and the food was to die for 2 courses for £21.00, I wish we had gone back for our final meal but we headed to the Golden Ball, food was not good.
I would fully recommend Ironbridge, but I possibly would not return to the Meadow as it was that little bit to far out and the food was just ok.

What can I say 10 out of 10. Nice everything, nice walk into Ironbridge, didnt mind the chimneys (cooling towers) at the back of the property, I was more intrigued by how the things are built? Took lots of photos of the Ironbridge area. Excellent staff, good food, keep up the good work, I will recommend you to my friends.

Had a one night stay with my husband, Mother in law and 2 children aged 5 and 18months. From start to finish the overall service, accomodation and food was excellent. Upon my first enquiry with them over the telephone they were extemely helpful (Mandy)! We arrived around 2.45pm on the Saturday and and were welcomed very warmly, we were shown our two room, numbers 3 the chocolate room and number 4 the serenity room, both tastefully done and lovely and clean. We had just arrived to the area and we were keen to have some food, hoping to eat at The Meadow Inn, but what we didnt realise is that they close from 3pm till 6pm so we fed elsewhere. This is not a criticism, just a note to let people know because if we had of known we probably would have set off earlier in order to eat there. The Meadow Inn is still open between these times to those that need to book in for accomodation etc.
Both rooms had a small flat screen tv in, although in our room (chocolate) we could only get one channel! Dont know whether this was our incompetence in operating it or what but we didnt find out until late at night and didnt think it was worth bothering the staff for, however when we mentioned it to Mandy the following morning she said that we should of contacted them and someone would have popped round to check it out! Was impressed, should have done it, because the only channel we could get was ITV and that was football highlights! My husband was happy but I wasnt too pleased!! The shower in both rooms was lovely, and very powerful always a bonus when you stay in a BB! Breakfast was lovely!!! Probably one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long while at a B&B! Again nothing too much trouble for the staff, even had toddler cutlery laid out in preparation of our little one! Small thing, but makes a whole difference especially when you have kids to contend with.
Overall, couldnt rate this higher, would definately recommend and would definately stay over at the Meadow Inn again.

My wife and I spent a very nice long weekend at the Meadow Inn. We stayed in the adjoining house in room 1 named the Bollywood room, which was very clean and tastefully decorated with decorating and furniture to a good standard and a very comfortable bed. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room which were replenished every day along with biccies The bathroom was restocked with towels and toiletries also and a nice touch, a pair of warm robes, so no need to bring your own. The room is on the ground floor and look out onto the road, howver the traffic was not noticeable and was very peaceful. I f I had to make any criticism and they are only niggles. the TV screen was a little bit small for the room , only because I could not read or see small objects properly and the guests above could easily be heard walking round the room because of squeaky floor boards, but otherwise it was excellent.

Between about 07:30 and 09:30 the Meadow Inn also supplied an excellent choice of full English and or cereal. Though it is not on the menu I asked for and was given a very large and possibly the best cheese omelete I have ever eaten (thank you Mandy), and regarding the staff, my wife and I found them very friendly and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant, The Meadow Inn has recently changed ownership and as such are in the process of changing their menu, the steak was superb and I would highly recommend the Sirloin, there was one issue however with the Mushroom Linguine which was not up to standard due to the porcini mushrooms being too tough as they had not been soaked properly prior to cooking, Mark the manager resoved the problem immediately and gave free sweets as compensation, which was very generous.
Finally the location,The Inn is on Buildwas Road which is at one end of Ironbridge, for some the walk to the centre by the bridge may be too much, but for any one who is physically able the walk is about 10 minutes and very pleasant

Overall a very good weekend and we would definitely stay again if we are in the area

We had a most enjoyable weekend at the Meadow Inn. When we arrived and booked in, the warm and friendly staff in the Inn, showed us to the rooms in the adjoining house. We were delighted with our large room (Room 2), and its excellent modern decor. The bed was most comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean and contained a selection of luxury toiletries and range of teas and coffees. There was also a flat screen TV. Although our room at the rear of the building overlooked the nearby power station, quite an unusual view - the cooling towers were nicely set near trees!!! Full English breakfast, which was included in the room rate, was served in the restaurant, at the time we requested, which allowed a nice lie in on a Sunday!! It was excellent - nothing was too much trouble, and we enjoyed extra toast etc. On Saturday evening we had arrived back, after our evening out and enjoyed beautifully served cappuchinos and the staff were too polite to hurry us out, as we sat chatting to relatives who also stayed there, way past closing time!! It really was excellent value for money and we vowed to return to explore Coalbrookdale next year.
