We were staying in Madeley and decided to visit Ironbridge for the day which is a lovely place with very quaint shops, lovely places to eat and the famous bridge which is being renovated will hopefully be completed in November 2018. After walking for 2 hours we decided to stop at this Hotel and watch the world go by have a drink and go to the Fish & Chip Shop. Well that did not happen it was so nice in the sun drinking Prosecco and Carling Shandy that we decided to look at the lunch menu which was very good and very reasonable. We both had a chilli which was perfect as we like it hot, the Boss/Chef bought us out a little taster to make sure he had made it hot enough for us which was a nice touch! Nothing was too much trouble! the lady behind the bar was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. After 4 hours of enjoying ourselves we thought we had better book a taxi to go back to Madeley. Stopping at this Hotel made our day!, if we are in the area again we will definitely go back!

Room Tip: Unable to rate the rooms or sleep quality as we did not stay here

A lovely building in a top location, ideal for local attractions. Comfortable room and a good breakfast. Hospitality notably excellent with great staff. Delicious food and a good bar. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for 2 nights as the price was reasonable.

good points

Room clean and towels replaced daily and stocks replenished each day

food reasonable priced

Breakfast tasty and hot

Great location and car park pass issued for free parking over the bridge.

Negatives.

Not the fault of the hotel but our room on the top floor was over the entrance as was a bit noisy, Window open as it was hot.

nothing else.

Iron bridge is lovely, new Microbar up the road sold really strong lager 7.2%, good Indian next door, very enjoyable, nice place to visit

Overall we had a good weekend. It is a very old building so accept the wonky floor and plaster work, however, its not acceptable for the thick cobwebs on the wall and ceiling and the dirty carpet. Our room was facing Ironbridge so that did make up a bit for the room.
The breakfast service was appalling, there was one young girl who couldn't keep up with the requirements of a breakfast service. The tables were not reset and there were no cups or glasses for juice or coffee, everything looked tired and just a bit not clean.
We ate in the restaurant on the second night and wished we hadn't, the portions were small and we had a to wait a long time despite no one else eating at the time.
We wouldn't go again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Ironbridge can be noisy

Sat outside for a drink watching the life of Ironbridge go past. Great location opposite the Ironbridge. Good cast beer. Dog friendly. Friendly staff. Serves food but didn't have any so can't comment.
