“Excellent food, but complacent employees”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

Had the menu for 4 in this large "Kashmiri Muslim" restaurant in attractive Square in Sheffiled (which city's town planning would not get many stars in a review) two nights ago. Our food was superb, being fresh, tasty, and plentiful. However there was a sense that one was considered lucky to be there in that the waiters were nonchalant to the point of rudeness. They also refused to replace one of the naan breads with a peshwari naan without charging, and they took some persuasion to replace caffeinated with decaffeinated coffee. When they did agree to do so (after consultation with someone important!) it was as if a great and arduous favour had been bestowed upon us.

“Good experience”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

We visited the Aagrah with business friends and all enjoyed the experience. There were seven of us without a reservation and the place was very busy, however the staff found us a good table. The resturant is very nice inside with a good vibe, the food is good, slightly on the spicey side but tastey, prices are a touch more than your average, but hey the place is quite stylish. If I had to be critical then I would have to say the service could be less rushed when they deliver the food. Overall I would really recomend a visit, I know we will be going back soon!

“Cyclist-hostile etablishment”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

The manager of this establishment hates cyclists. I would never visi

Attended a leaving afternoon tea at the Leopold this afternoon. The inadequate number of bike hoops in front of the hotel were full, as was all nearby street furniture, so I locked my trusty steed to the railings outside. Bike safe when I got out, headed home.

Turns out one our Profs (who had arranged the do) had locked her bike to some railings near the Aagrah.

When she came out to head home at 5pm somebody had locked a bike to hers to prevent it being moved. This was eventually traced to the manager of the Aagrah . He said he did that to dissuade her from parking there again. She says he could simply have put a sign up to say “no bike parking”

I wonder if an offence has been committed by depriving somebody of their cycle in this way.

Now I know that Leopold Square is privately owned so the law may be woolly, then again its now an offence to clamp a car on private land

Ultimately it may not be quite so amusing for the manager of the Aagrah.

The Law School has regularly used it for social events ( 25 plus guests), but I don’t think we will be going their again after this. I’m certainly not going to bother going to the next do we have booked there, I guess said group of professors won’t be going eithert.
