London road is packed with ethnic food outlets, some fast food and some restaurants. There are probably alot of bad restaurants around here and so unless you are recommended to go here, you may miss it.

Great service but the food is brilliant. Saturday nights can get pretty hectic and it may result in being turned away for an hour or so until a table comes free. I enjoy going on a Saturday afternoon, just me and the wife, sharing some of the huge platters of kebabs, with the bread, homous and salads. A starter of humous and bread with gerkins, followed by a massive mixed kebab main easily fills the two of us for less than £15.

This is a restaurant we love and tend to take our family, friends or colleagues to regularly. There is food to please anyone from kids to older people and we have never been disappointed so far. Highly recommended!

Went for lunch after my son's graduation. Simple decor and chairs are a bit hard. Waited for the charcoal grill to heat up but the wait was well worth it because the food was fantastic. Large portions, excellent value for money, but above all- delicious!

We ate at Zeugma Iki - what I believe is the newer of the two London Road eateries - on the occasion of celebrating a graduation. Our visit was at 7.00pm on a balmy Saturday evening and the restaurant was busy but not 'packed' as other reviewers have claimed it always is.

Coming off London Road, you walk past an open kitchen with a deli-style counter filled with meats and salads before shuffling through a narrow doorway into a cosy, somewhat pokey, rear building which is little more than a glorified conservatory. The restaurant is small, no question about it, with possibly 40-50 covers tightly packed into the back room. Beyond this room lies a small garden which was used by other customers for smoking - I didn't venture out so I cannot comment on it.

Unfortunately, the first ten minutes of our visit were tainted by the incessant screaming of a misbehaving child. There were many glances across to the ignorant parents from people on all sides but it still took an inordinate amount of time for either parent to take it upon themselves to take the child away from the table. Rant over, review begins.

The pitta bread provided to us before we picked starters was soft, moist and fluffy - very delicious indeed. The starters ordered included an almost mimickry of tzatziki under a Turkish guise, a spiced Turkish sausage, two dishes of hummous and an aubergine-related dish. At first, the an incorrect meal was brought to the table but this was quickly remedied.

The spiced sausage - my dish - was fantastic. The flavour was strong without being overbearing and the texture was wonderful. I often find sausages too harshly cooked on the outside whilst remaining unduly chewy internally. This was consistently tender throughout without any sign of overcooking. Job well done.

The tzatziki and hummous starters were fine - there is not too much that can be done to make these exceptional but both were perfectly pleasant dishes. I didn't sample the aubergine starter.

Three of the party selected the Iskender Kebab - a huge dish of minced lamb meat with yoghurt and a pitta bread base. It was superb. The meat was tender, wonderfully injected with the flavour of the chargrill and delicately balanced against the coolness of the accompanying yoghurt. It was, I kid you not, a huge portion however and I was left feeling slightly on the less comfortable side of being full once I had finished - likewise with the other two who ate the meal.

The other two diners enjoyed Chicken Shish. The pieces of meat were chunky, superbly cooked and very pleasantly flavoured. The slight spice about them was terrific and they went down a treat. These, unlike the Iskender Kebabs, were filling without being suffocating and, when I go to Zeugma again, I think they will be my choice.

The ambience of the restaurant is pleasant - it is not trying too hard to be Turkish, nor is it ignorant of the fact that its mainstay is, of course, Turkish cuisine. All of us agreed, however, that the music is being played too loud and it made conversing across the table just that little bit louder, and so less enjoyable, than it should be at a restaurant.

The serving staff are attentive though they do not always fill you with every confidence owing to a slight miscommunication in language. The prices are reasonable - five starters and mains along with three soft drinks and a beer came in at over £85 - although a part of you does feel slightly as though you've just spent about £12 eating a glorified donner meat kebab.

All in all, this is a welcome addition to Sheffield's dining scene. London Road is a hotbed of brilliant international cuisines and Zeugma Iki, and no doubt its sister restaurant, stand out as some of the best on this, the Las Vegas Strip of world food. I would certainly recommend a visit even if at first thought you don't think Turkish is the cuisine for you.

I can only assume that all the rave reviews that have been written for this place have been written by students on a budget. Indeed on the night that we visited Zeugma the majority, if not all, the clientele were under 25's and appeared to be students.

Now, there's nothing wrong with students - I was one once. And I know that it's tough on a budget, making do with rice and tins of sweetcorn and tuna, to get you through the week. And the weekend is often a cause for celebration - a chance to splash out perhaps on a meal. But, the budget is still in mind eh? You want something more than the meagre fodder that you've existed on all week, but you don't want to break the bank?

Zeugma is an excellent choice in this case. It is an atmospheric place, even from the outside. Smoke billows from it's chimneys on London Road and the smell of char-grilled meat pervades the area. Once through its doors it is a canteen of tightly packed wooden tables, full of students, whose faces are lit with alcohol and the glow from the burning coals over which the chefs cook the food in full view. For a modest price you can get a big plateful of grilled meat and accompaniments - and it's fine - nothing wrong with it at all - plain and simple - char-grilled food - good value for money.

But to consider this to be anything more than that is sheer fantasy, or plain ignorance.

It would be better described as a cafe, or eatery, or canteen. The highlight, as I've said, is the plainly chargrilled meat (and the atmosphere). The other things, like choice of starters, authenticity of the food, quality of the cooking, is nothing more than average at best.

It's a great deal for students. For those of us who want more of a "restaurant" with better quality food this is not the place.
